I think this KOS thing was a whim of Jon's he did because it's something he wanted to do.
I think that's relative. Yes, they did play a regular show there in 2010, but they could never do what they did last night in a stadium or even arena production. These amphitheaters are the only size venue on this tour where they could try it. That's where the location downs into play.

But it shouldn't even be a option or something to be tried. Especially the way these shows were marketed. Blatant false advertising. And I am not talking about the car stage (I think the ad had the arena stage anyway), I don't think anyone really cares about that. They can put on a rock show with some lights and a few screens, they have done on this tour when the car stage couldn't be there.

I agree 100%. Just saying that there's a reason this was tried in Saratoga as opposed to Soldier Field.

If people are going to complain, remember, Jon & company have been touring non stop since 2000. If Jon wants to do a show like this once every 600 shows, he should be allowed too. Funny how people on this board complain about the "vanilla" set lists & that when he doesn't mix it up like the "other" guy from New Jersey, but when he does, people complain about it not being a "traditional/formal" Bon Jovi show.

Was thinking the same thing here...
Excellent way of putting things.

Although I like the concept of playing an odd show one time every 600 shows and doing it in a rather smaller venue i just found one thing that isn't cool :

Guess some fans' expectations were not met

For the record guys, this venue is not a small venue. Amphitheaters typically hold as much, if not more, than an amphitheater. SPAC has a capacity of almost 25,000 people where most arenas hold 16,000-18,000.

Got this from another forum from someone who was at the show. A question was asked regarding the show; From what she wrote; Jon wasn't on stage at the very beginning. Bobby literally opened the show!

Bobby with the KOS performed Sgt Pepper...no band members were on stage then Jon came out and performed with the KOS. The Band came out then left the stage and KOS came back out. David, Tico, Hugh, & Phil were on stage for 12 songs and then the final song. The rest of the time it was the KOS. The only time KOS and BJ Band was on stage together was the last song.

Yes Bobby started the show and sang 3 songs. St. Pepper, Baba O'Reilly and Pretty Woman. Jon was only on stage playing guitar for Baba O'Reilly the other two songs no one from BJ was on stage.
