Yeah - we will both need new obsessions Marc LOL.

I certainly agree with your assessment of their support of The Circle. It sucked As my favorite album of theirs in years I am still very disappointed.

Have to agree their support did suck. They gave up way to easy. WWBTF and Superman Tonight, did not grab that crowd that they were going for. So they just quit on the whole Circle.

I don't think the Circle would have grabbed that crowd to begin with, way over their head as far as content. Compare the lyrics of IML and WWBTF, clear to see why one worked with that crowd and one didn't.

Fact is the younger group(teens through 20 something) is the group that spends the money and makes a song a hit. Always has been that way. Not one song on The Circle that would really grab this group, as I said way over their head. They are the all about me group, not the look at world group.

Jon wants the big hits and needs that younger group to make that happen. Yet he says he don't want to make SWW or IML over. Not where he is at in life. The Circle is where he is at, it's also where I am at, love it, get it. But the group he needs to make it a hit, does not love it cause they can't get it.

This album could have been so much more. With tweeks here and there, it could have grabbed everyone. But as is it would never grab that younger group.

I think this is an excellent assessment. A conversation I had early on with Bleeding Purist here pretty much went the same way. We are older and we really love this material. My daughter (who is 20) didn't care for the album at all until she heard some of the songs live - then she started to like it.

It's clear though that the majority of Jovi fans want something different.

I'm 22 and I adore the album, just saying.
As for songs that would have attracted a younger audience, LTOR really could have grabbed at the crowd that listened to The Killers.

I'm 21 and I've loved the Circle from day one. Probably even more so now TBH.
