Great review in your previous post. Think you've also hit the nail on the head with this comment- a bit of a double-edged sword though. Knowledge probably is raising expectations too much, but on the other hand I think it's better that folk are becoming more aware of the disparity between certain gigs. But as someone who has done my fair share of moaning about setlists, I should maybe make more effort to stress that performance wise, the band were great! Still much better than most out there.

Glad you enjoyed reading it.
If a poster was there and didn't like it then fine. I wont agree (about yesterday) but can and will respect the posters views.

If poster is at home telling me its crap and boring. Sorry but I can't respect their views or comments.

Youtube clips do not lie, it's reality. The performance on this tour is somewhat disappointing and flat.

About set list, in 1993 there was no youtube, so you might be surprised in your city. Now we are in 2013, the same set list for a band with so many fans not working.

The Circle tour was a role model, a good tour, with many things to offer, both new and old songs, acoustic set and a lot of covers.

Honestly, if BWC tour had had the best set list of history, still would have it the negative connotation because Richie was not here.

The most boring tour, that's my opinion, the set list and performances speak for themselves.

And how can YouTube videos change that opinion? They can't, Richie's not there and the tour will be the most boring thing EVER even if they play "Borderline", "Roulette" and "Prostitute" while Jon does a strip-tease and dry-humps the mic stand after smoking a joint and gulping a whole bottle of Jack at once, ending the show flying over the audience Superman-style as he did on the Slippery When Wet Tour.

I always feel a YouTube video really sums up a performance. The shaky camera, muffled sound, screams in the background & recorded on phones.

Yes. Definatley the best way to view a live performance.
So good, why go there???

It's interesting reading reviews from die-hards and then reading reviews from first timers. Here's one that I found from Tumblr from a first timer:

Let’s cut out the bullshit. I saw Bon Jovi live for the first time tonight. I’ve been waiting 17 years for this moment and it was ****ing awesome.

Would people be happier with the AC/DC approach? 18 songs. Same set. Same order. Every night.

No complaints or more complaints??

I thought the SKY footage from the IOW showed the Band to be exactly what they are, THE best live band on the planet, yes I know its been edited and loads of songs chopped out, but having seen them many times, It did capture the magic, and I think you could see that even those in the crowd who wernt there espcially to see BON JOVI, Jon had them captured.....

There is enough material soundboard to make a judgment about this, is the worst tour in my opinion and some audience videos are decent and high quality for a valoration.

AC/DC doesn't tour every 3 years. Stop comparing bands irrelevant to this discussion just so you can make your point. AC/DC has done 2 world tours in the same time span Bon Jovi did 8, it creates a completely different buzz among fans once that band goes on tour. Besides, bands who do the same set every single night on one tour often bring back several songs from the dead, only to retire them the next tour, when they bring back other songs back from the dead to then play them every night. The last time Bon Jovi actually brought back something from the dead and started playing it every night was 2001 when Raise Your Hands returned. How's that for using your own argument against you now?

Just because you are incapable of judging a performance from a youTube video doesn't mean someone else can't. That show in Milan I saw was exactly the way I expected it to be because I'd seen those youtube video's made with shaky camera's.

I don't understand why you get so overly defensive over something you enjoyed so much yet others didn't. You can't judge a set on paper? Fine. I can, and I haven't been wrong in years, exactly because I have seen so many shows. Sure, Bon Jovi are capable of pleasing the masses, but I don't give a shit if the 50.000+ people at any show had a blast if I didn't. I don't start acting like a crybaby if other people did enjoy their show though, it'd be nice if you'd be capable of giving people the exact treatment the other way around. Your hostile behavior leads to nowhere but more and more people getting more and more vocal in regards to their frustrations about the shows they have and haven't seen.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
