Maybe I am also biased because the day/night was made by the friends I went with and the times we had after the shows back at Kathleens. Night 2 was the peak for me, one of the best Always I'd heard and Never Say goodbye was just the perfect song for that trip. Dry county on night 3 (I dont go mad for DC as much as everyone else btw) was very good. I believe even Seb said it was asgood a version he'd heard, some praise eh?!!

I would def go back to Meadowlands for Bon Jovi, the only thing I would do different is get floor tickets as the atmosphere is far better down there. Just so i'm not with all the part timers sat eating their hotdogs in the middle of superman tonight
Damn that Charlotte show was amazing!! Haha. I said it again!

I think the band should make their greatest hits portion of the tour a bit different... to try and sway all of the die-hards back around and not risk having sales issues. They should play each region once, in an arena with cheap ticket prices. Sell everything out and then hit the European countries they haven't in a while... that way they are still working it, but not repeating places as often. I love the fact that they are playing so much, but it's over-saturating some markets and honestly, I'm surprised they still sell so well. I think they're the best live band around, but eventually this would affect anyone.

I've seen the band in New Jersey several times at Giants, Borgata, and the Prudential Center and I've never found that they put on "better" shows in New Jersey. The best thing about going to New Jersey is that it's the mecca to Bon Jovi fans and you get to meet great people. I've seen exponentially better shows in Omaha and St. Louis and I think that's partly due to the energy of the crowd. I've found that a crowd of people who haven't seen the band 10 times a year are way more excited and into the show than those for whom it's become commonplace. I think the band respond to that energy. For me, making a trip to NJ is more about seeing friends than seeing the band. The band is just the excuse to make the trip.

I have seen this at a few shows over here... Twickenham was one for example, I was bored out of my mind but everyone else seemed to be loving it.

And i do know quite alot of people who say the exact same thing, thats why I was considering it next year

If the next 2 shows and the show in Foxborough are more of the same, I will have to severely curtail the number of U.S. shows that I do next year and put my money and vacation days toward a trip to Europe. I'd love to do that anyway, but it is a little demoralizing to think that I HAVE to go abroad to get more than the hits.
Hey Terri,

Your reasoning is sound, and your logic is good, but maybe not for the reasons that you think. The likelihood of getting a good show in their hometown is greater because they sell more shows in their hometown, and they seem to play varying setlists in multi-show towns.

If you look at any of the arena shows, and Meadowlands for that matter, (before they went to Europe and went all bat-shit with the setlists-which yes, I would have given nearly anything to see last night), nearly any show that was a multiple night show had more variety than a show that was in a one-night city.

I say nearly, because I have been witness to Jovi-greatness, when Jon went all crazy with the setlist in Grand Rapids, May 8, 2001. At that show, we got this beauty:

one wild night
bad name
it's my life
ktf/sympathy for the devil
prayer
born to be my baby
blaze
saturday night
in these arms
older
wild is the wind
living in sin
homebound train
i'll sleep when i'm dead
bad medicine/shout

ENCORE
say it isn't so
blood on blood
wanted dead or alive
tequila
twist & shout

I hadn't heard some of those songs since I saw them July 7, 1989. It was one of the most awesome nights of Jovi for me!!! But I have since come to realize these setlists are rarities, and while it would be awesome to have them all of the time, it's not happening. So we pick the shows we attend, we enjoy to the fullest the times spent with the Jovi's, we look forward to seeing our Jovi friends, make our next tithe to the church of Jovi, and wait for the next euphoric moment in Jovi-time to see them. Our son LOVED this show. He has been raised on Jovi since the womb. He came out singing LOAP. I honestly don’t know where he got that tiny microphone and guitar in there… But he would not have traded this show for all the gold in Dubai, (all the video games in Japan-maybe). He was singing his heart out and actually said to me, “How does Jon do all that singing every night? I’m exhausted.” His face was glowing when they started Captain Crash – yes, I know to all of you board members that song is like a pariah, but it is one of his favorite songs, and he was ecstatic that it made the cut for that night. His exuberance was amazing.

As for all of you “diehards”, do you still go absolutely insane when “This is Our House” starts. I’m enough of a diehard after 25 years that I can tell you how a song is going to start in the concert and how it is going to end musically, for the most part. (I can recognize a Jovi song with 2-3 notes being played. Ask David about the TV show that he was watching a few years ago…) I know when the show is going to start by the song that is playing before each concert, this tour it is “This is Our House” Our son was grabbing my hands and telling me to calm down, I was making a scene. He finally gave up and said he didn’t know me. After all of your shows, do you still feel that high when your show is about to start? All of you have to realize that life is too short to spend it b*tching about "The band should've played this", "Jon f*cked this up", "Richie f*cked this up" Get over it, enjoy your evening with Jovi’s, and move on. See them next tour or don't, it's your choice and your money.

By this time, I hate to say, Jon’s marketing machine doesn’t “care” if you see them or not, we are replaceable. If we don’t buy the seat, someone else will. So you just have to make yourself happy. If the setlists aren’t making you happy, don’t go to multiple concerts. Pick the ones to attend, and stick to it.

I’m not saying any of this to p*ss anybody off. I still love the band as much today as I did that day in 1985 when I first saw and fell in love with that awesome song, Silent Night. Didn’t know it was the same band that did Runaway – back in the day when radio stations played 8-10 songs in a row, and didn’t tell you who sang any of the songs – very annoying!! Didn’t put it all together until I managed to see a video rock block on MTv (oh, the days of my youth, when MTv played videos…)

I always do, and frankly I always will get psyched up right before they go on stage. And honestly, no matter how many times I see them, I've ALWAYS felt the magic of Prayer, KTF, and a few others. This is where I take issue with you're next comment (no offense) I understand what your saying about life is too short, but frankly that's why I post on this board. I get to escape reality, and come here to talk about my favorite band whenever I want, and it's lead to meeting a lot of great people I consider friends. That being said, Friday night was the first time I felt like I didn't get my money's worth out of Bon Jovi. It has nothing to do with what they played, it has to do with how they played. I don't think it's the beginning of the end or anything, it was just a bad night. But, if I come on here to praise them when they wow me (see my posts on the May shows) then I'm gonna bitch when they piss me off.
