Yep, the verses are brutal and go even higher for certain lines. Even in late 1986/early 1987 when his voices started to suffer under the relentless touring schedule, the lines "seven days too soon / what we break up of their rules" and "where everybody goes / and blast the radio" in the verses were pretty much the first ones where his voice was strained to death. Later in the tour he was just screeching his way through there.

Just looking back on this thread, SO many people don't post here anymore. Milomom, sleep-when-im-dead, UKjovi as you said. Even KeepTheFaith2211 hardly does and I used to always chat with him. Shame.

I'm a bit jealous I didn't get to experience those years. I was just too young back then and wasn't a fan like I am now. Damn, it must have been awesome watching the streams and you see the band start playing Hey God or Dry County.

I don’t remember there being streams to be honest. Just PBP threads amounting to about 75 pages!

Hey God was still a huge rarity then. I remember them playing it in Des Moine in 2008 and Anaheim in 2010 and everyone just going crazy. Stick To Your Guns in Amsterdam was a good one too

There were UStream videos from the first night in Honolulu when they had played the very old stuff. Other than that, there wasn't really much of that back then. Even in 2013 it was a rarity when someone (at one of Richie's last shows) actually streamed the concert on his phone.

Ah Honolulu. The days of Tokyo Road and Shot Through The Heart!
