She died last year all of a sudden and friends of her held up request banners with her favorite songs which then lead Jon to doing this medley. If it's true I think it was a very nice gesture from him.
It's a beautiful gesture and from what I've heard he wasn't suppose to sing NSG but only did it for Rosie.
