There probably wont be any ground cover because the ground is fairly uneven - a big, sloped field! A mud-fest all-round! I've been to Slane a few times but I've always stayed up on the hill, never down closer to the stage. Its always been sunny and dry when I've been before so hasn't been mucky but with showers due Fri and Sat it might be a different story!

This will be the weirdest night of the year. I now live in Dublin and 3/4 of my favorite band are playing one of the most prestigious venues on the planet about 90 mins by bus from my own doorstep. Yet, I won't be going. I am actually happy I am not going. It's still strange considering the amount of miles I have already travelled to see the same band plus their lead guitarist.

Apparently a police press release says they are expecting 45k while the organiser was quoted as saying that they are hoping for 50k+ tomorrow so that looks to be the size of the crowd.

Pretty poor sales to be honest. Combination of:

1. Economic situation
2. Piss poor support acts
3. Bon Jovi touring relentlessly in recent years
4. The Richie situation

Let's hope they pull a good performance out of the bag. The public reaction has been negative towards Bon Jovi headlining this gig so at least a big performance will go someway towards justifying it because the ticket sales haven't.

Either way, I'm getting pissed and singing my little heart out despite not having a note in my head. Hey, if Jon can get away with it...

Think i will air guitar the solos which Bobby does, a little bit of Richie will then be there!!

45-50k is not bad, they dont have a town centre to give out free tickets on the night!! Better than the predicted 25k!!

On way to airport now, ready to meet Kev, Ollie and Kat for Pre gig drinks at Temple bar!

According to Jon, this is the one he's been looking forward to the most, so hope it lives up to expectations!
