And I remember taking a couple of friends to the 2008 Hamburg show and they were non die-hards. I loved the show, Hey God was played, Jon was in great spirits, I had a blast. They were bored to death through the mid-section. It's something Bon Jovi have never got right. That doesn't meant they didn't enjoy the show, but up until We Got it Goin' On/ It's My Life came in the set, they just looked bored and confused, despite all of Jon's charisma and stuff. So, yes, I can completely empathise with what the reviewer was writing.
You sure you didn't write that review?

To be honest, they played all the hits pretty much. If you also take a song like Captain Crash, whatever you think about it, the crowd really got into it. I remember looking at the screen and the crowd was doing the usual swaying. So her assertion that the album tracks bored the crowd isn't fair.

They played for over 3 hours and did 28 songs. Very few artists have 28 songs that the masses know and fewer still play them all in the same gig. If Jon does all the hits and goes home after an hour and a half, he's a prick. If he plays album tracks, he's boring the crowd. Other artists get lauded for putting everything into a 2.5 to 3 hour show even if the crowd doesn't know all the songs and that's what irks me with this review besides the blatant untruth that the crowd wasn't into it.

Jesus, even WAN went over better than I thought it would. I cringed when it started because I hate the song with a passion but the crowd didn't respond too badly I thought. Then again, I was expecting Jon to get bottles of piss thrown at him for that turd.

I think the fact that a lot of the press here wanted this gig to fail, thought that Bon Jovi were no longer a big enough act to pull a crowd has really pissed them off. Everyone knew that Bon Jovi would only sell 20-40k tickets for Slane and it would be a disaster. The fact that they pulled a massive crowd, that very few of the media darlings could pull, has left some of the press in this country with egg on their faces.

That's exactly what she did. There was probably no atmosphere in the VIP section and she spent the gig drinking with her friends.
She obviously knows nothing about Bon Jovi if she thinks they didn't sing enough hits! I don't know what well known song they didn't sing, apart from Bed of Roses.
I was just on her twitter page and she said in one of her tweets that 'reviews are fairly new to me'. I really think she was in no position to write a review of this concert. She even left before it finished.
I couldn't care less what she thinks but people reading that review are being given false information.

It's not about anyone deserving to hear certain songs. My point is that Jon makes this big speech before TD, implying they were going to play something for those who he sees in the crowd every night(it was in the set list anyway) TD isn't rare. End of. I don't care if its a song you wanna hear. Why not keep both those in and rotate a WWWB, LH, BTF for a fans fave or request?

Just look at the reaction last nights show got, so clearly when he's is in the mood to shake up the set, it makes for a special show.
