Just got back from the show. Well, what can I say...I most certainly wasn't expecting that. As soon as they left out the cover songs I was sure they'd cut it short - probably in favor of tomorrow (which I don't mind since I'll be in Cologne!)
The setlist was a bit weird, but had some nice surprises.
Some notes on the show:
- At the start of BWC Jon went back cause his guitar wasn't working, gave his tech the stinkeye and returned too late for the first verse to the microphone. He then sang it without guitar, moving around a lot more which worked quite well. The acoustic outro was added and went over halfway well.
- Superman was a pleasant surprise and partly sent shivers down my spine. Though I missed Richie's vocals near the end...
- my mood was killed immediately with LH afterwards...
- Jon called Marco up on stage and Wanted was killer! This kid owned the stage! In fact I've seen him before - there was an edition for kids of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (similar to American Idol etc.) and he won it:

- Christina Stürmer came on stage for Who Says which made the song halfway bearable
- right before Who Says Jon looked at one banner and though about it and said "that won't work"
- he was into reading banners a lot
- unfortunately there was one for Amen which then opened the encore
- I'm With You was next and made my day since I love that tune! Went over quite well too...
- Army of One surprised me but actually is quite a decent tune live and the audience seemed to enjoy it - only during Amen really no one payed attention
- LTOR was added as well and it was a killer performance! In fact it was the only time this tour where I thought that Jon sounds good. I heard it once before - in Mannheim 2011 - but it was way better tonight!
- all 4 songs in the encore (up until Prayer) were from banners - I'd like to see what the encore on the printed setlist was
- after Prayer Jon seemed to continue and fans were confused when the music over the PA went on and workers began dismanteling the stage already
- the catwalk wasn't used once but Jon was quite active and moving more than at least in Munich
- this show somehow was so different from any Jovi concert I've seen before but I had a great time and am looking forward to tonight!!!
