Default Murrayfield June 22nd - Pre Show Query

I am not new to seeing Bon Jovi as this will be my 6th gig and my 3rd within the Gold Circle. I received my tickets last week and they inform me on the front that Gates open at 16:30. Thats fair enough but it also states on the ticket "Pre Show Bar Open from 1.30pm - available on a first come first served basis"

I havent been to Murrayfield before but I am told that there is a large outer area of the stadium before you'd go through the gates into the stadium proper and I am assuming that this pre show bar etc will be located in that area. Can anyone shed any light on this? Its not a deep desire for pre show alcohol, I just wondered as I thought it was Diamond Circle ticket holders who had this extra facility.

Also has anyone else here been to Murrayfield for a gig before? First time I havent seen a turnstile/entry point number on the ticket. Cant imagine the tickets for the 6 nations rugby having no turnstile/entrance number on them.

There are turnstyles at Murrayfield (very narrow ones!), although whether they use them or not is another matter. The usual entry point for concert fans is by the west gate but, having only seen Bryan Adams there previously, it may be different given the rip-off different price tierings for Jovi.

Strange it doesn't mention it on the tickets though - I envision a lot of chaos and frustration with people joining wrong queues etc.

I have a feeling that this PreShow is open to anyone.
When i booked my tickets it said i was getting GC tickets. (although i didnt pay a higher price for them) When they came in the post i have General Admission tickets and it has the 'Pre Show bar open from 1.30 etc' printed on those.

I too was wondering about this, so I've just emailed Murrayfield who replied with:

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your enquiry!
The pre-show bar is in the West Stand car park – it is the tents with bars inside. The gates however don’t open until 4.30pm so you won’t be able to access your seats until then.
Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Clare

It's just stalls set up between the gate and the stadium itself.

Off the top of my head it was over £4 a pint at Oasis. You're better off hitting up that bar that sits on the corner next to the railway bridge if you want a pint.

Not going myself (Spain is holding me captive for another 2 weeks) but according to an e-mail that my friend who is goign receieved from Murrayfield, apparantly the opening act will be on at 6pm! That seems a little bit early to us, what does everyone else reckon? As she's driving down from Aberdeen the day of the show she's paranoid she'll miss something. Not that the opening acts from the past couple of tours have been anything to write home about

A woman at my girlfriends work got an e:mail today about the murrayfield gig, from what my girlfriend could remeber, it said there was gonna be a contest for a local group to support (which we pretty much knew anyway) winner is the support act, thn bon jovi on stage at 8:15pm until 10:45pm.

So yeah, 6pm does seem a little early for the support act, perhaps 7pm is more realistic.

Also, is there anywhere decent for a munch near murrayfield? Only been there once to see the red hot chilli peppers years ago and can't remember anything surrounding it.....

Well, up until a year ago there was my flat
There's a Sainsbury's nearby. There are a few bars etc relatively close by nearer the train station (Haymarket) if you want to go for a drink beforehand (as I'm assuming that the bar operated by Murrayfield will be a rip-off).
