There's a Sainsbury's nearby. There are a few bars etc relatively close by nearer the train station (Haymarket) if you want to go for a drink beforehand (as I'm assuming that the bar operated by Murrayfield will be a rip-off).
Cool, as long as theres something nearby I can grab something to eat from i'm happy lol. Not too fussed about the bars cos i'll be driving

cheers

Cheers for the comments guys, confusion reigns eh! Well I am going with a mate and its his first gig seeing the band so we're just gonna enjoy the day. Got Gold Circle standing so that will be good. Am staying in the centre of Edinburgh so probably have a nice big lunch and some beers then make way out to the stadium, might walk it so that have an idea of the route back afterwards, piece of cake if it was at Hampden but I dont know Edinburgh as well.

Think I'll give the pre show rip off bar a miss, am sure all will become clear on the day. Gates open at 16:30 so might get out an hour or so before and see what the craic is. Hope it aint bucketing like their last scottish gig in 2008, was so glad I found that bloke selling the plastic rain capes!

The stadium is dead easy to find.

Head along Princes Street to Haymarket station and then keep heading East towards the zoo. It's a mile or so along to your left, you'll be able to see it between the streets.

I'm unfortunately far too good at my job it would appear and have been contracted to work Wednesday so I won't get through until half 5, 6ish.

On the plus side my mum is tagging along and driving so we can have adrink on the way there and back.

As Jim said, the stadium is easy to find:

From Haymarket station (located behind the pub in the below image) just head down Haymarket Terrace towards Corstorphine Road and you absolutely cannot miss it.

Fond memories of bouncing down there with a bottle of rose and some nutters who'd won tickets on the radio for the Oasis gig a few years back

You going to be around before the gig Gav? We're parking at Graham's keyboard players house which is near the Toby Carvery on Corstorphine I think but we'll probably bunker down somewhere for a few beers before heading in.

Good old reliable keys players eh? I'm driving into Edinburgh from Fife and leaving the car at Wayne's as he has a handy designated parking space for his flat which means I avoid having to watch out for the extended residential parking zones that now blanket the city.

Other than that, I don't know what the plan is exactly. We've got some friends coming down from Inverness and will be meeting up with them somewhere in the Haymarket area but I don't know what time that will be mate.

Also, I don't even have my ticket yet - Ross ordered them, so I better make sure I bump into him somewhere along the way too.

Well the guy we've just asked to join our band on keys has bailed out of the first practice he was scheduled to attend so let's not go there

Doubt we'll be anywhere near Haymarket but I'll keep an eye out in and around the stadium for youg guys.

what do you guys think, prices go up and yet quality of support bands goes down to the stage where they are sorting thinking sod support bands we wont even bother with them for murrayfield. I have seen some awesome bands warm up for bon jovi, matchbox 20, nickleback, one republic etc etc and this being my 8th gig and the most i have ever paid. I think a good support act sets the crowd up for a good gig and having nothing other than a local band is a bit shitty if u ask me

It's a complete cop out, penny pinching of the highest order.

Muse supported U2 on the American leg of their tour. Now that's a rock show. If I want to see some local band I'll go to the pub.

Yup it's a total ****ing cop out.

The weird thing is that support acts usually have to bank roll their part in the jaunt so it's not as if Jovi are trying to save on running costs.

On the plus side it means you can chill out before the gig and grab a few beers or take your time getting there instead of hanging around inside the venue for hours before the band even hit the stage.
