More importantly, that made it 10 years ago yesterday that I first met Mrs Walkerboy - in the FC queue waiting for our wristbands........ (when fans were treated like fans, not pieces of meat)

In my opinion Bon Jovi have had a decent support band at every Scottish gig ive been to apart from The Feeling.

1996 - Skunk Anansie and Gun
2001- Matchbox 20
2003 - Live
2006 - Nickelback (who that day were prob better than Bon Jovi)

As far as having local bands it's a great opportunity for them. However in my opinion only decent one was last time round with Logan. Leaving that gig in 2008 many people I spoke to couldn't believe they were unsigned and should have gone on after The Feeling.

They also had Joan Osborne at MK in 1996.
Actually, I seem to think that weekend was the first time they had a local band open for them (Seven, who later went on to become Phono).

To get this thread back on track. Vintage Trouble who are the official support for Manchester, London, Bristol and Dublin have now added Edinburgh to the list so they will be supporting Bon Jovi on Wednesday. They're managed by Dave Sabo and Doc McGhee and are pretty good IMO. Link to their website below confirming they're playing and below that a link of them performing on Jools Holland.

Oh shit!

I didn't even know these cats were playing Dublin. I saw them on Jools Holland and thought they were brilliant.

This is great news

Me as well. Can't wait to see them at HRC. Looking at the order of bands for HRC it would seem like they're on first at 1:45. Wouldn't be a bad start to the day if you ask me.

Yep.

This had added another dimension to the shows. I thought I was going to have to sit through some rubbish pub band.

I dig that but I can see them going down like a lead balloon in a stadium support slot.

There was no support act in Atlanta and I liked that much better than there being one. I think it's nice of them to give local bands a shot, but I have no desire to see them. And if it comes down to a big name support act or a longer Jovi show, I'd take the longer Jovi show.
