Are you kidding me? Before he actually kicks in the pre-chorus he seems very much aware on how there's a chance he won't hit the note, he then doesn't, and avoids any other high stuff later on. There's a reason why he skips the second part of the song altogether.

Add to that the fact that after they brought back the song it never came back like in 93 where it had another "but this aint about me.." part between verses

Blood Money was dreadful. Just compare it to this from a the Lost Highway tour and it's night and day.

Wow, I often tends to forget what a strong voice Jon had back in Europe 2008. I really think he could have bailed out almost anything in the Bon Jovi cataloug that leg of that tour.
And yes, it's night and day to 2013.

Jon needs to see this videos and do something to sing like that again. That version with the violin gave me goosebumps.

Ouch. Too bad. I guess I'll be glad that I heard it on the LH tour. I just found the video from Atlanta (which wasn't long after he'd pulled it out again), and it's light years better. It isn't even simply the issue of hitting the high notes, IMO. It's how his voice sounds throughout the song. (Sorry - not a singer, and I don't know the right lingo.) Everything sounds so harsh now.

It's because he's shouting and forcing the notes rather then adding resonance to them, I've mentioned this in another thread but I think his voice limitations are so present in his mind that every time one relatively high note is coming right around the corner he approaches it with fear of not hitting it. I do believe he can get back to 2010-2011 tour shape, but the mother****er would have to hire a vocal coach and concentrate on training his voice more. This tour is taking its toll on Jon, it was apparent from the get go....

Eric with a K - I was just thinking the same thing. Fair play to him for having the balls to give it a go - and in hindsight probably the best thing to do to give it up after 1 verse.

How can a "professional singer" let his voice goto pot like that. 2008 was the rebirth of his voice after 4 years of it being terrible. If he did it then why cant he do it now. Even 2010 was pretty decent for Jon's voice.
