I don't think they could pull or want to take another TD to Crush length break.
That was a bit longer, closer to three years. And that's only cos they toured NJ for such a stupidly long time. And there were solo albums, so it just feels like it was more of a break

It was far earlier in their career too, so the circumstances are pretty different. People wouldn't have been as burned out on them. And even so, in 1992 / 3 they were just starting their 5th tour in 10 years, whereas in 2005 it was their 6th in 10 years. With another 5 before that

Meh, I'm tired (it's 3:45am in England) and probably not putting up a fantastic argument here, but I know what I mean. I don't consider the Bounce - HAND break in the same league as either the NJ - Faith or the TD - Crush. The kind of break I think they should take now is at least a complete two years away from the band, which they didn't do between Bounce - HAND ... hell, two years from the end of the Bounce tour, HAND the song was already on the radio with two releases in between!

And now, to bed!

The break wasn't that much longer Jersey tour ended in Feb of 90, Faith came out Fall '92, and the band played several concerts in that time. I think it seems longer because there was so much tension in the band, and uncertainty about the future of the band.
As for the tours, I think that's a bit deceptive. Look how much longer they were on the road at that time. The NJ tour alone is almost double the length of the HAND Tour.

Not good for a second night.
GREAT to see Damned, but the rest is typical and the encore is way too short.

Man, the beginning of the set is ROUGH. Crash, Summertime, I Got The Girl, Radio. Good lord.

However, the entire set is nearly redeemed by Damned. What a suprise inclusion.

I know this is blasphemy, but I've never been a huge fan of Damned, though I think it's great to put such a rarity in the set. I know a lot of people love it, so kudos. The rest of the set was predictable and lazy.

WTF is up with I Got The Girl? What is with Jon's love of this song? It's OK, but why not One Wild Night or Next 100 Years off of Crush?

Summertime actually works live. I was surprised, but it comes off very well. Song reminds me of Something For The Pain which I always felt sucked live, but this one works.
