I'm going to 3 in June and will be happy enough as long as there's a couple of even minor changes - maybe that's just me.
I'm welling up: I agree, definitely.

Three out of four words with a negative touch. Besides that it's getting boring, it's been always pathetic, really. I don't even want to go for the contemptuous smart-ass comments of what we could expect from the show.

Yeah, they will say that nothing has changed, that Bon Jovi is still a great show to see. It IS a matter of that 1%, or let's say 10%. The rest doesn't care too much for what's been played in what slot 8 years ago.

And this will result in whining. Even you will come to an age where you won't give it all all of the time anymore, but play it safe. Deal with it. Your facts may be right but they hardly make up for all the complaining.

Because there are a lot of die-hards that actually do enjoy what they get? It's quite common, if you're happy you don't complain as much. And unlike me, most of them can't be bothered about that noisy whining minority.

Imo things have changed a lot from 2000 to now. More than from 1986 to 2000 actually, in terms of concert quality from that band. That's why I'll never go to a BJ show ever again.

Between 2000 and 2008, we've had Bounce, TLFR, HAND and LH, all of which have brought their fair share of boring & cheasy live songs. And that's just one of many changes in that timeframe.

Surely what's relevant is how those shows make you feel -not how many shows he's been to.

I've seen a lot of shows from These Days onwards and never came away feeling cheated, disappointed, or that the band didn't give their all, and that's unlike other supposed top bands like the Chilli Peppers, R.E.M., christ, even the Foo Fighters didn't live up to my expectations - and they're expectations that Bon Jovi have created and set the standard for.

I wouldn't say I've ever been really "disappointed" from a Bon Jovi show. They've always sounded good, and put on a decent, if not, excellent show. I look back at interviews, like on the Crush Tour DVD with Tico where he says they "never play the same show twice", or from Dave when he says "Jon changes things up constantly". Or, I believe it was Jon who said he's been to shows where "the lead singer said the same thing night after night like he was reading a script. We don't do that."

Clearly, they know that's what people want them to do. Why not just do it? Why always talk about it if you're not gonna follow through? That's where my letdown stems from.

I see your point. The thing with me is, I've always took what Jon and any random band member says with a pinch of salt anyway. They always say what comes into their minds or what people want to hear, whether it's true or not. That's never changed.

None of that really matters to me, I guess - it's just a lot of bullshit in between what really counts - those 2 and a half to 3 hours when they're on stage where I know they're going to slay me no matter what they play - whether it's a run of the mill set list that I've heard two dozen times or something a bit more special. When that changes, my feelings will change.

But giving them a bit of credit, so far this tour they've made some small changes that gives me hope - no, they're not doing it every show, but the sets definitely look better than on the HAND tour.
