When Complicated was the 4th song on Thursday night, I had a feeling we were NOT getting the setlist we wanted for the last show. Too bad I was right that time.

The guys seemed to be in a great mood, and it was a high-energy, well-performed show. It just didn't have a chance to be really special because of the setlist. A friend got a printed setlist again (Richie's guitar tech's this time -- in Nashville she got Richie's), and there were a couple of changes. The first song in the encore was supposed to be Last Man Standing instead of Hallelujah. Treat Her Right was, of course, a last minute addition.
I really missed having an intro song for Blaze. Both Blood Money and Heaven's Door are terrific, and I'd have enjoyed either one more time. I'm guessing they dropped it because Jon wanted to talk about Daughtry (which he did) since this was the last show for them to be opening . . . or because he knew about the wig that Chris was going to be wearing when he came out. That would have been a mess if he'd just come out in the middle of the song as he'd been doing. Whatever. It was a funny moment, and Jon was laughing through the first couple of verses of Blaze -- not something you'd usually see for that song.
Richie did IBTFY . . . again. <sigh> He did a great job with it (and was very careful when he put the mic stand down -- no battle with it on night 2), but come one -- 2 nights in a row in the same venue? I just checked, the last time he did These Days was April 8 at the second San Jose show. Every show after that got IBTFY. (Stranger was last done on February 28 in Washington, DC.) I really wonder who decides which song Richie does. And whoever it is, WTF is he thinking?! IBTFY is not the only song he does well.
Hallelujah was very well done once again. (Although I think Greensboro was better.) I had friends at this show who hadn't seen it yet and were thrilled. I'd have been happy to get Last Man Standing as I haven't seen that one live.
There was an incident during KTF, and because it I'm surprised that Jon did Hallelujah and added Treat Her Right to the encore (although Richie may have been the one who argued for that -- they were about to go off, when Jon & Richie got together and then they stayed). Jon had the maracas during Faith, as usual, but all of a sudden it was clear that he was annoyed about something, and then he either threw them down or threw them at someone in front of him. My friend and I looked at each other like WTF?! At the time, we thought he threw them at the cameraman. This has been discussed at length over on Backstage, and no one could really see what happened. He eventually gave them to a little girl, but the first time he threw them he was NOT tossing them TO someone! He was pissed. (There's a video leading up to the moment, but YouTube isn't responding right now. I'll post the link as soon as I can get to it.) Anyway, I thought "there goes the rest of the show," but Jon seemed to get over it. We're all still curious about what happened, though.
BTW, after pulling out Feels Like The First Time on Wednesday, Daughtry surprised us again with Helter Skelter on Thursday. Well done!
I took LOTS of photos at these 2 shows. (On Thursday, Backstage was great to me again -- 7th row in the section in front of Richie.) Once I've made some sense of my photos, I'll post some.
