I don't support booing, but the guy has every right to be mad. It's easy to say "get over it, go to other gig" when you're from UK or USA and you got concerts every single ****ing year.

With regards this Sofia show, if it had ''been a Hull'', I think the criticisms and finger pointing would be more justified. Even ''booing''. In this instance though, trying to put blame on Jon and the OP saying that future shows will get better setlists and that that isn't fair, isn't fair in itself.

One can of course be disappointed in a show, or even upset that the band didn't play what you thought you were entitled to - we've all been there in the past enough times. I think in this case, it is different however due to Jon's condition on the night. And that's my opinion on the matter. And I've already taken back the ''go to another gig'' comment, it was flippant and not thought through.

This !
Some people here seem to think that everyone can go to another country to see Bon Jovi. And when they go to your country for the first time in more than a decade, and probably the last one, and you get a short and vanilla set with a singer who can't sing, you can't complain. Just get over it and travel to the UK or USA to seem them.

I can afford to go to Europe to see Bon Jovi whenever I like, but a lot of people who were in Rio 2010 couldn't even go to São Paulo or Buenos Aires. When the concert ended, a lot of people booed because Bon Jovi played almost and hour less in Rio when compared to the show in São Paulo. I thought it was a good show, because I've seen them live many times, so I didn't complain. However, I really understand why so many people were pissed as hell, and if I told them to "get over it", I would not be here today writing this.

Still. The Rio setlist was ****ING AWESOME, I'd give a 3 hour setlist a la Johannesburg for one like that with gems for the fans without even think about it!

This thread is exactly why Bon Jovi shouldn't change their setlist every night. Play 22/23/24 songs a night and stick to it, so people can't be upset over what they didn't get.

I know the main complaint here is the set being cut short, but they'll play some rarities in one city in the next few weeks whereas another city will get two songs from 'The Circle' and a 'GHII' song as their changes. And people won't be happy. I know as I've had it done to me.

'Just giving his opinion' is one thing but moving from 'get over it' to 'playing the 1 show in 30 years card' or whatever, just seemed totally unnecessary; he has NO idea who the guy is. Read it again, imagine you don't know him and tell me it's not over the top.

The chap who went to the show is suffering right now and in a week or two, he'll probably feel for Jon as much as the rest of us. But he will NEVER get that show back... no matter how much you empathise with JBJ, that must be gutting.
To Beaky: this is exactly how I am feeling right now. I know I may be exaggerating a little bit because, as somebody posted earlier, no one died. Yet, I have never felt so disappointed with something that is not life-threatening before, it just hurts much more than I thought. Of course, I wish Jon the best of success with all the forthcoming shows. I hope he will recover quickly and continue to put on shows because they are incredible. I got an incredible two-hour performance and I will learn to appreciate that. But I need some time, because I know what these guys could have done had it not been for the allergy.

No way in hell for me. Knowing the setlist beforehand would TOTALLY ruin it for me. I'm just so glad they change it every night, even if that means sometimes hoping for one song and not getting it. Also, we all wish for a million different songs being played. With a different setlist every night, everybody can wish for their one song, with a static setlist, you have to stick with whatever is decided before the tour. I cringe just at the thought of it.

I've known singers that when they are ill and can't sing they do a half assed show and a free one for everyone that attended a while down the road.

So people have every right to be mad, you paid a good amount of money and you want to get the best out of it. Perfectly understandable.

If Jon's eating sand because of some fad diet then he's definitely to blame
