I have a feeling the band saved up a little for Münich. I'm starting to get worried. I remember in 2008, or even 2011 during the European Tour, almost every show was privileged with some kind of treat. Just songs like Radio Saved My Life, Just Older, I'd Die For You, Blaze of Glory, even No Apologies would make it more interesting. The main set is almost identical EVERY show, with the exception of Runaway being cut out some shows and Bed of Roses being switched with Amen some shows.

Phil have learned some of the most demanding songs in Bon Jovis catalouge, Dry County, These Days, Hey God etc. so it would be a piece of cake for him to knock out Just Older, Bounce, Wild in the Streets or something like that. It's all about Jon not wanting to put the effort to reharse new material for the tour. I think we will see These Days, Dry County, Always, Hey God and Blood on Blood pop up during some shows on the tour, but besides that, I don't think there will be much more to it. Maybe a handfull suprises and hopefully some new songs. I'm really hoping for the best.

And no, I'm not commenting the quality of the show. The people their probably had the time of their life, but for the die hard fans who have seen 5, 7, 9 or more shows in Europe, this tour will be an even bigger slap in the face after Richies absence if the band won't mix it up a bit.

Not a stellar setlist by any means, could have come from any of the last 3 tours to be honest. They really need to change this up a lot more, there's nothing new to see here- Take out Whole Lot Of Leavin & We Got It Going On plus add an extra new track and we'd be getting somewhere. No need for Sleep When I'm Dead anymore either.

Glad to hear the performance was good however which is a good thing, hopefully the tour can get back on track with a run of decent shows. Munich will very much be the test tonight.

I completely agree...with Richie gone,we can forget about songs like Wild in the streets , Undivided, I Believe and This ain't a love song..unless Richie comes back 6.6.2013...then we will have two legs of European tour...

A lot of my friends were at the show yesterday and EVERYBODY said the same - No Richie , not worth the money!...it was a JBJ show and Jon really seems to like it this way...

The whole idea that "jon won't put forth the effort to get other older songs played is such a joke" do you really expect a fill in guitarist to learn an entire bands catelog? Get over yourselves. The fact that they have as many rotating songs on the setlist is pretty good and as soon as a encore with something of this fashion you'll all quit your damn bitching.

Encore 1
Dry county
Blood on blood
Wanted
Prayer
Encore 2
These days
Always
Encore 3
Sat night

Why would it be a joke for Phil X to learn a bunch of 4-chord songs? We're not talking Steve Vai or Tommy Emanuel material. Bon Jovi songs are very easy to learn, especially for a guitarist like Phil X.
He could sit in his hotelroom a night and learn the entire Bounce album for example. Of course they would have to soundcheck the material, but so they had to do when Richie was in the band too. It wasn't like the band just played a rare song without soundchecking it with the exception of some few occasions.
All Jon has to do is say "Hey Phil, learn that song" and then go through it a couple of times during soundcheck.

Blaming Phil for the fact that the band is not changing the set more is just a lazy excuse. I doubt the set would have differed a lot if Richie would have been in the band.

Maybe I'm the minority when I say that in light of recent events I'm just glad that we have a front man that can (mostly) still sing?

Exactly. Phil will learn whatever Jon wants to put in the setlist. Jon could put Wild In The Streets in there for example. If they did this "secret gig" or glorified soundcheck/rehearsal the day before, they could have easily gone over a batch of other catalogue songs that could be rotated into the set.

Maybe there are songs Richie doesn't like to perform that Phil would as he has no emotional attachment or preference to the songs. But it certainly wouldn't be any sort of stretch for him to learn, say, 50 songs and they pick and choose from that.

I hope some new stuff turns up soon- whilst Always, Dry County, These Days, Hey God etc.. are all great and always welcome (tbf they should mostly be staples) they have been used as the rarities for the last couple of tours, it would be nice for something else to show up.

Please forgive this daft question, but what exactly are audibles? are these songs they keep in reserve incase something goes wrong??
