If the pain that Im feeling so strong
Is the reason that Im holding on
Or the bridge:
Baby, I thought you and me would stand the test of time
Like we got away with the perfect crime but
We were just a legend in my mind
I guess that I was blind
Remember those nights dancing at the masquerade
The clowns wore smiles that wouldn't fade
You and I were the renegades, some things never change
Specially the bolded part, and let's not begin with the chorus, the "If the love that I got for you is gone. If the river I cried aint that long. Then Im wrong, yeah I'm wrong, this ain't a love song" is just out of this world.
And the music has that passion and feeling that I just can't help not loving that song. Another masterpiece of the out of this world record that is These Days.
Edit: About the video, I hate the version with the dude that get's punched. The other one with the band ain't that bad.

Ok, after going through it again in my head I see your point - I think what actually "ruins" it for me is the video that's stuck somewhere in the back of my head

Maybe I have to go and revisit TD as a whole again - has been at least a couple of years that I haven't listened to any of it...
Still, I've seen it live and it was ok, but didn't get such a great crowd reaction if I recall correctly - damn, that's 18 years ago now
