Ok then I got that (partially) wrong - but what would you want to hear? And what about all the casuals wanting to hear only the hits?

Yeah, IF I go see them again next time when and if they tour, i might skip Vienna and just go to Munich. Glad my friend got to see both but family comes first

As a real Sambora fan I had to come to a difficult decision before the show in Munich: Go there or stay home. I decided to go there with low expectations. Now two days after the show I must admit: It was a very good concert. The band made the best out of the situation and especially Jon showed his passion.

I don't like "Water" as opener. It doesn't catch the people like Raise your hands. I would just change these two songs in the setlist. But after the opener they delievered the real rockers with "Bad Name", "Baby" and "Raise your hands". They are standard but work. I don't like "Because we can" but with the radio airplay it got it works. "What about now" is just boring and a forgiven chance to play a better song from the new record like "I'm with you". With the trio "Captain Crash", "Born to follow" and "Who says" they reached my bottom of boredom. But after that the band really got me. "Sleep when I'm dead" with the Stones covers and "Rockin' all over the world" was so much fun! The whole stadium enjoyed it. From that point on it became a great night. Jon was on fire and simpley didn't want to leave. It was really funny when the band was leaving the stage after "These days". Behind his back Jon gesticulated with one hand to the loud crowd: "That's fantastic but make more noise!" They came back and played "I love this town". It's definitely not my favourite but I enjoyed getting an additional song.

As I said: The band did a fantastic job. Phil X also did a good job but can't replace Richie of course. He doesn't get the feeling and emotions into the songs. His way of playing is very different to Richie's style. His technics are impressive but he's not able to set these emotional points like richie, for example in the short solo of "Make a memory".

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

They can all go to **** themselves, this isn't a greatest hits tour.

No, not every band has double standards. I follow quite a lot of bands and I don't know any band that has such huge differences in setlists like Bon Jovi has when playing Munich one night, and then a city like Dresden the next night. It's one thing to play 1 extra song because you feel the crowd has been special, but to actually plan an extra hour in beforehand is nothing but a rude gesture to people living in other cities. If you don't live in London or Manchester you're pretty much screwed when it comes to shows in the U.K., just like you're screwed as an American if you're not from the New York or Philadelphia area. Brazil and Argentina aren't more "important" for concerts, and the fact that you seem to think so makes it come across as if you feel like you're a better fan than someone from Peru. You're not.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
I never said I was a better fan for being born in a country, I just said that a lot of bands put better shows in Buenos Aires and Brazil than in other latinamerican countries, they even record DVDs here like the ones of Sonata Arctica and AC/DC. Another close third is Chile, that usually gets great setlists too.

It's like denying that in Europe there're more important venues, you said once (if I don't remember wrong as it might had been another user) that you were going to San Siro as it was going to be epic because of the importance of the venue. As most of users here said that they were travelling to certains cities because of the same reasons.

I'd feel insulted if a crowd with everyone in their chairs and an old lady knitting got only one or two less songs than a crowd that gave it all, and I were on that crowd.

I hated the Maroon 5 concert for that, the band played great, but the setlist was exactly the same of every night, I could tell what they were going to play without missing one, what was kinda sad.

Speaking of it, the Sofia thing wasn't a fault of the setlist, there're was polen on the air, he got alergies. There's no one to blame.

The reason I'm going to San Siro is because I wanted to see more of Italy, and Italy having great crowds, thus this resulting in a better setlist and a Jon Bon Jovi who's willing to do a better show. And that's exactly the problem. Jon decides beforehand what shows will get a great setlist, and what shows will get the standard set of the tour.

Oh come on now, you're acting as if American crowds are full of knitting ladies. Like I said, it's one thing to start playing better during a show because of a reaction from the crowd, but to actually plan on doing so before going on stage? That's rude and it means you're essentially thinking certain fans deserve a better show. Why does a die hard from Bristol not deserve a 3 hour show and a fan from London does? And again, I don't know any band who does such a thing.

Yes it is. Bon Jovi have never done a tour that wasn't a Greatest Hits tour. If you feel it isn't you're in denial just as much as Jon is. It's the greatest hits with the addition of the odd 10 tracks Jon wants to play every night.

I agree, but it's not advertised as a Greatest Hits tour, they could not play hits and anyone would have the right to complain. I really hope Jon get's his balls back and start doing better setlists, because this setlists are just sad.
