I know Foxboro is nowhere near being sold out either. Here's what happens:

1.Tour is announced. Jon gives us all his "word" that things will be different, mixed up, oldies played, rarities played, etc.

2.Arena shows. Enough die-hards buy tickets to fill a 20,000 seat venue. The show is exactly the same as the previous tour, thus again, proving Jon is full of shit.

3.Stadium shows roll around, and only half the people that went to the arena shows buy tickets, as well as die hards from overseas thinking it will be so cool to see them in a stadium. Stadium holds 60,000, and they maybe sell 35,000 tickets.

Part of me is starting to think Jon is somewhat mentally handicapped. It's not rocket science. Give the people what they want, and they will come. Half ass your way through a 2 song encore of Wanted and Prayer, and people will stop wasting their money.

I'm bummed, man. I used to get SO pumped for a Jovi show. Now I have hardly any excitement at all. I'm looking forward to meeting some people and hanging out with a few friends. As for the show themselves, I expect very little, especially after the half-ass show in Hershey.

I totally agree - I can't see them doing anything special in Giants either. Probably all of the rarer and uncommon songs will be saved for their stint at the O2 in London next month.

Guys, you're putting way too much power to the die hards. I'm sorry, but you are. Hell, 99% of the people who go to shows (despite what we'd like to think) don't scour the internet looking at setlists, and most of them don't want the, in their minds "unknown or new crap" anyway. U2 change their setlists (both historically and on this past tour) much less than Bon Jovi do, and they sold almost 200,000 tickets at Giants last year. It has much less to do with setlist, and much more to do with the amount of dates BJ has played in this area in the past five years:
2005: 2 Nights at MSG, 3 NIghts at IZOD
2006: 3 Nights at Giants
2007: 10 Nights at The Pru
2008: 1 night in Central Park, 2 nights at MSG
That's 21 major shows in a 4 year span, with only a year off in between. Combined that with a shitty economy and high ticket prices, and it's not hard to see why these shows aren't sold out.

Absolutely ... no band on that level tours as much as Bon Jovi. I'm not complaining, but it's a fact. You really have to be a huge fan to go and see them every tour.

So many shows, high prices, lousy economy and maybe the lack of a big radio hit drawing new fans to the shows ...

That's almost 580,000 tickets in the tri-state marketplace between '05 and '08, let alone the shows from '00 through '03.

If sales are hurting, it's very simple. 10 years ago I'd have been at all 4 shows. The fact that I'm going to even 2 shows surprises me. This band has gained an unfortunate reputation of simply not mixing the set up enough, and not playing what the fans want to hear. Of course, there will be Backstage lunatics who don't care, but even for us die-hards, I think many of us have simply had enough. I want a different show, and until I see them doing it, I see no need to go to 4 shows in 1 place.
I'm all about them mixing up setlists, but you guys are dead wrong. Not to sound like a know-it-all, but in America, it's because of ticket prices. You wanna talk set lists? Say there are 60,000 people there each night. I promise you, PROMISE you, that 59,000 of those people want to hear: Prayer, Bad Name, Medicine, There For You, It's my Life, Who Says, Bed of Roses, Always, Runaway, Wanted, Blaze and a few more. Those people will no idea what Roulette, Get Ready, Something For The Pain, Dry County, Santa Fe, Stranger In This Town or even Living In Sin is. They have no such reputation to the general public for not mixing up the setlists. Most bands don't mix up setlists one little bit. It's all about ticket prices right now... I still this the shows will appear to be packed, for whatever reason, but this setlist mess is only pissing off maybe 5% of the people that buy Bon Jovi tickets and CDs.. the DIE-HARDS.

It's true!

In news story about New Meadowlands getting the Super Bowl, they showed a clip of the band running through Raise Your Hands, Have a Nice Day, and something else (they were talking over it)

I kind of felt the same way, but I've been relying on other people's Tweets for this whole tour. I feel like this is my way of returning the favor. And I want to give the board a dependable feed. Besides, I keep track of sets on my phone anyway.

I saw that on the news. I saw the stage and realized where I am kinda sitting. I cannot wait. I don't care if they play a whole record or LTOR over and over again. I am there to have fun. To those going but still whining its getting old fast.
