not a bad effort on the solo, but you can tell he's improvising as he probably didn't have enough time to learn the orignal solo in its entirety considering richie plays at least 85% of the original solo live nowadays. so, overall not a bad effort but not even close to richie's.

Could be my imagination, but looks like Jon wipes his eyes right at the end of the video (9:30). I guess it's sweaty up there, but looks as though he teared up.

Listening to DC now. Is it just me or does he play the riff a lot smoother than Richie?

EDIT: Solo's good but it isn't the perfection that is the original solo.

Dry County sounded good! But no one can play the solo like Richie. The entire solo is perfection. But Phil did a good job, impressive to have learned a solo like that so fast
