The issue isn't Phil being capable of playing the songs, the issue is, as always, Jon being willing to actually play them. It doesn't take a lot to learn Bon Jovi songs, and considering how Phil's note expected to copy Richie note fore note he can pretty much do whatever he wants to during most guitar solo's as long as he follows the basic outline. It shouldn't take him more than 30 minutes to learn a new song.

The difference with this tour compared to last time they hit Europe is that Jon's voice is in an absolutely awful condition. In 2011 his vocals had picked up a lot due to the touring in the U.S.A.. This time however, he's been pretty consistent, it's just a shame that he's been consistently bad. He's not been able to sing Always properly at all, sounded full on constipated during Dry County, and other regular songs sound painful as well. I wouldn't hold my breath for any rare stuff, and if it gets played it most likely will sound dreadful. And there's no Richie to save him this time.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Nope, Jon said in an interview a few days ago that they will have the "old" stage in Sofia (don't know which one he means - I guess the South African one) and that they will run a test-up with the Buick version the night before the Vienna show to have it worked out in time for that concert.

At least from my perspective, when you're actually at the show and singing along to every song at the top of your lungs, it's a lot harder to notice how Jon's voice sounds as opposed to watching a Youtube video or something. Even though Always hasn't sounded great, they played it at tons of shows on the US leg. So I think that could mean there could be some magic songs pulled out.
