Didn't BJ play Melbourne in 2001 as part of the One Wild Night tour?

Yes kind of. Well they did one gig in Melbourne as part of the Universal Appeal.. so a charity gig. They were the headliners so there were other bands before them.

I wasn't there.

But we call it an appearance not a tour..

thats also known as the universal appeal concert in which many other bands played as well. so it wasnt a full bon jovi setlist, concert, stage etc.

admittedly, they played longer than they did at rumba

Just got back from the show, and I wasnt disappointed.

The rain was lightly falling for much of the day, didnt stop thousands of people queuing up throughout the day though. Thankfully it didnt rain during most of the concert, only lightly at the end.

Jon was happy and enthusiastic throughout. Lots of crowd interaction and many statements about being happy to be back in Australia. The music bowl crowd lapped up all the band had to offer, really good effort by the whole team. The venue was great , good sound and vision.

Jon sounded good too, the rendition of Hallujah was excellent. Did his own guitar solos on the outros of Runaway and ISWID, don't know if that's a new thing or not but I noticed.

The only thing I really missed was SIBSN (especially since it was Saturday night!) but a great show overall. Hope the rest of australia gets a good performance too.
