It really didn't sound like Jon was joking when he blamed the record company. Ah well it's not really important...they came ( eventually)!!!!

So, when do we start counting down until they hit Melbourne again?!?!?

Default melbourne rocked!!!

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT SHOW!!!!!! BJ defintely still got in 'goin' on', great set list, mad energy and awesome crowd. Possibly the most fun I've seen Jon and Rich have on stage yet he was pumped!!!!

Made up for the heartbreak of being ripped off $400 by Worldticketshop.com (sydney goers beware if you had to resort to getting tickets from here, there are some VERY shonky deals going down with their "employee scalpers") We bought seated tickets back in November 10 minutes after on sale and got GA lawn tickets only 2 hours before show...grrr exoensive lesson to watch most of concert on the "BIG SCREEN")

Loved JBJ's smart ass comment to Richie "What have you got your sunglasses on for?... BUT THEY"RE PRETTY!!!"

Got some great videos of the screen footage to post later for those who missed it.

BRING ON CHRISTCHURCH AND THE ROW K SEATS!!!!!

Hey all,

To those on this forum who keep bagging the Lost Highway tour, John's vocals and the bands ability to rock for nearly two and a half hours; please seriously consider getting your hearing and vision checked.

Admittedly my first Bovi show (and nothing but DVD's and bootlegs to compare it to), from start to finish, was nothing short of spectacular... anyone wanting proof need look no further than Hallelujah - - and I challenge anyone (and I know I will be taken up on this - long time lurker and know some people here are just never happy) to tell me John's vocals aren't up to scratch.

Absolutley brilliant. Leave for Sydney tomorrow morning to see the first show and can't wait!

Can anyone who took any video footage of the show please put it on youtube or email me? I would really love to get as much footage as possible!!

To all those yet to see the show; ignore negative reviews - it is truly a fantastic show. Last night was the best concert I have ever been to (and I've been to a quite a few).

Well as it is your first BJ show you obviously never seen them when they were really rocking. YOu might enjoy it but they are a shadow of their former self. No fiddles great voice awesome changing setlists - that was what BJ was about until the 2000's were coming. Even until 2006 it was decent. All is gone now....

Thankyou for posting the youtube link PaoloT...a good friend of mine rang me from the Music Bowl when that was being played...even over the mobile it sounded good.

Just because they've added a fiddle doesn't mean they don't rock ... yes they may have changed styles but when they play songs non-LH, the fiddle isn't as bad as people make it out to be. To be honest I barely noticed it last night.

Secondly, the setlists are changing. I don't really see what's so bad about these set lists. There are a certain number of songs they just have to play ... it just wouldn't be a Jovi show without Prayer, Wanted, IMY etc. the fact they may choose something such as Sleep When I'm Dead over other songs that we may rather hear (ie. rarities) is purely because they go down well live. For example, We Got It Goin On; this is a song I pretty much skip when listening to LH, but after seeing it live, I have a new found appreciation for it ... it actually goes down quite well live.

As far as his voice goes, whilst it may have been stronger in the past, and is probably the reason songs such as Always aren't played, what do you expect from someone who has been touring for 25 ish years? Of course it's going to deteriorate. My point is, I didn't notice any major pitchy or power problems during last nights gig (and having studied and played music a few years back, I know what I'm listening for). Again, I might be in a better position after tomorrow's show, but as far as I'm concerned, song-choice wise, his voice was mighty fine and I doubt you'll find anyone at the Melbourne concert who will testify otherwise.

I just don't see why people are giving the band such a hard time ... they've been doing it for 25 years, and from what I saw last night, given the opportunity I'd go see them over and over again.

Get a life dude....seriously, all you do is come on here and complain. Dont you have anything better to do? I was sceptical about the performances too without having seen any shows this tour. I went to the show last night and they kicked ****ing ass!!!

once again, get a life...we dont wanna hear it anymore. 20,000 people had smiles on their faces last night. if you want to live in the past then go for it. enjoy the sadness it brings you

You took the words right outta my mouth, but being new I didn't wanna be as blunt as you were.

Its inevitable that as they get older, it isn't going to be the same but that is no reason to complain about everything. They still rock!
