By all reports on Backstage, it sounds like they were 'rushing' through the set so that they could catch a train!

deb
**** those "warm up shows". If I was there (and paid a lot of money!) I would be pissed of at such a attitude - just play long sets when cameras are rolling or it is an "important" hall.
Crap attitude!

Yes they are broke. They travel through Japan by train now. Night after night the gear is shipped into cargo wagons and they travel from city to city.

There's a special train in Japan, the Bullet Train, that travels with speeds over 250 km/h from city to city, and that's the train they needed to catch. They sleep in Tokyo throughout their stay in Japan, and catch that train each night after their performance.

Still, I don't know how often that train travels per night, but they could've just started half an hour earlier. This is just Bon Jovi, the unprofesssional band of fools again.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

You should get that printed on a banner for the upcoming European tour. Would go down a treat...!

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

I think most people use the bullet trains in Japan as they are incredibly quick and efficient. The band have always used them - just watch the Access All Areas vid!

The need to catch a train is just no excuse at all to play such a short set, neither is the fact that it was the first show. People pay as much money for these shows as people in Tokyo or anywhere else do, so they deserve more than just a warm up show. Plus, the first european show isnt necessarily crap either.

This is always difficult.

Some bands will tour and play the same selected set list everynight throughout the tour. This means that wherever you see the band you get the same experience and nobody gets better value etc.

Other bands, like Jovi for example will change it a bit. Unfortunatly you may be lucky or unlucky as to which show you see them at. You may get a more regular set or possibly get a longer show with some rare songs.

I guess we all want a 25 song set list with 17 main stay tracks and 8 songs that can be changed etc. We will never be happy though, just too may great songs to fit in.
