- My Funny Valentine after Blaze, but before Roses.

Kenny Chesney was the big surprise according to Becky's text message!

This is accurate. Otherwise a pretty standard set for the tour. I'm not sure about Kenny Chesney, but he did not perform with the band.

it's true, no Kenny Chesney performance on stage *with* Bon Jovi. i have no idea if he came out during the opening act or not, since i didn't get to the venue until late.

sort of a bit of a sham that they did "My Funny Valentine" yet again. i mean, even "Can't Help Falling In Love" would have been better. at least they did "In These Arms"...

overall, it seemed like the crowd was less into the show than in Atlanta a month ago, and the band seemed to be less energetic as well.

no kenny chesney during the opening act or on stage with bon jovi.

the opening act was a signed artist, trent tomlinson. i wish they had stuck with local bands because there are 50 local bands in nashville better than this guy

trent tomlinson = worst. opening act. evar.

the bon jovi show was good. there seemed to be a lot of musical mistakes. richie was laughing about it at one point and said something about somebody forgetting, but i dont know who did what.

jennifer's monitor was messed up or she didnt know how to operate it for the first 2/3 of the song and she sounded terrible during the harmony parts on WSYCGH.

jon was joking with richie about the heather situation. i'm glad they did that and didnt just ignore it. he also said 'sometimes the cover of people magazine changes everything' at the end of novocaine.

they did the TLFR version of IBTFY, which was a little disappointing after hearing richie's version from atlantic city.

the crowd sang the first verse of Wanted, and Richie sang the 2nd.

I like My Funny Valentine but yeay they did do it last year on V Day in the same city and all so those who saw the Bounce tour there have been there done that. I agree about Can't Help Falling in Love in front of Bed of Roses ~ that would have been a nice surprise- I loved hearing it acapella at SPAC in '03.

A little surprised Jon and Richie joked about People magazine.. here I was thinking that he was a little heartbroken.... But hey if he's moving on good for him!

Thanks for the updates!

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

When the show started Jon was at the back of the arena on a little platform near the sound stuff and he did all of LMS out there.
I didn't see Kenny Chesney anywhere either (thank God...Jennifer Nettles was bad enough!) but Jon did introduce himself as Keith Urban near the start of the show. Also right before they started Wanted Jon said something about Chris Cagle not writing it...I didn't get the joke, though. Does he cover it or something in his shows?? Whatever.
Jon sang Blaze and Funny Valentine from section 106...which happened to be my section I have never seen so many camera phones at one time. The girl sitting next to me got to touch his hand or something as he was walking back to the stage and she wept openly afterwards.
I was very excited to hear In These Arms and Welcome to Wherever You Are. I wasn't so excited to hear the TLFR version of I'll Be There For You, though. It's like some sort of musical homicide I think. I'd rather they just not do it if that's the version that's going to be played.
What else...some girl ran up on stage during Wanted and kissed and hugged all over Jon while Richie was singing. At first I thought it was Nettles again with a costume change and I cringed because I was afraid they were going to end the show with her out there. But it was just some crazy fan and she was escorted off the stage by security. Another girl made a mad dash for the stage down one of the ramps, but security was waiting for her at the end and two guards picked her up and carried her off--they're like the secret service or something. Oh, and someone threw red fuzzy handcuffs up on stage at the show 3 years ago and Jon put them on the microphone for a song or two...well someone threw a pair up on stage again this time but he just threw them back.
Long story short, I really enjoyed it, and thought it was well worth the 4 hour drive

i'm with Sugardrops - not a big fan of the 'TLFR' version of "I'll Be There For You," no offense to anyone. i thought the bluesy version that Richie did last tour was much better.

here's a memento for anyone who enjoyed getting "In These Arms" at the show last night...
