I agree. Like Central Park was during the LH tour.

The opening act has been announced - an unsigned band called Green River Ordinance - http://www.greenriverordinance.com/ I listened to some of the stuff on that page, and I've certainly heard worse.

Becky, they've also updated the FAQ. Those in the VIP section can now bring cameras.

As is in the title, this is a $$$FREE SHOW$$$. So one could expect this concert to be
(that means vanilla, for the slow)
Free for the people going, not free because the band is playing out of the goodness of their hearts, BP is forking out the dough.

So, because of the casual crowd going to "a" concert, I also expect vanilla, not because as the band is playing for free, they won't bother. Just saying...

You know, I've not actually seen if Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley (country singer playing on Sunday night) are being paid or not. As I understand it, when Jimmy Buffett played his show on the same beach, he played for free. However, he's from the area and has business interests there. BP money was used to put on that show on, though. I've not seen any disclosure about how it's working for these 2 shows. I have a guess, but that's all it is.

I hear Green River Ordinance on the Pulse station on Sirius XM. I think they are a signed band. I think I saw them with David Cook in Mobile last year. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they were one of the opening acts. They weren't awful, but I'd rather there was no opening act.

I saw "unsigned" somewhere while I was surfing, but perhaps it was old info. Sorry about that, GRO! A couple of friends from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area said they won contests in the past to open for Jovi.

EDIT - I knew I saw "unsigned" somewhere. It's on their Facebook page! Oops. Guess no one has updated that in awhile!

When there's nothing surprisng in the setlist, we say it's "vanilla." I posted that I was hoping for French Vanilla . . . which wouldn't be much different. We're just saying that we aren't expecting any big surprises since this show will primarily be for VERY casual fans.

As you said about Buffett, when artists play for free, it's one of the things that the public eventually know, when there is no disclosure, well... believe what you want.

I'm pretty sure you and I are believing the same thing.

If BP would like to pay for my 2011 concert tickets, I'd be happy to let them work off some more guilt.

Thanks. As I'm new here, I'm off this inside jokes
But why a casual concert/setlist is a vanilla?

Well, These Days was played in the last 3 concerts, maybe they play it there too.
