Yeah but people around here these days act like they'd have more fun going to the dentists.

Yeah, that's because, shock, horror, more and more people over here aren't like someone like you, who seems to think that a poor Bon Jovi show is still a good night out. There's not been any show played in America that have made me rather wanted to be in the venue as opposed to just sit at home and watch TV. And this tour is been consisting of nothing but poor Bon Jovi shows, minus about 5 shows, really. Autopilot, poor vocals and dreadful setlists. If you can't detect the first one, don't hear the second one and don't care for the last one, then yeah, I'm sure you'll have a blast.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Any night out to me is better than a night in with the TV. I can go and enjoy a night with local bands who are nowhere near the level of Bon Jovi, so it's nonsensical that I wouldn't enjoy a night with a band who, whilst currently nowhere near at their best - and I would never disagree with that - are still pretty ****ing good.

And this whole setlist argument - the songs their playing are the songs I fell in love with. I don't get tired listening to them on a record, so why I'd get tired listening them to the few times I get to hear them live every couple of years - also makes no sense.

There you go, and I agree. I'm off to the show myself. I desperately wanted to go to the first show - not because it was the first show but because I had open heart surgery less than 5 weeks previously and I was just glad to be alive. Even my surgeon said I could go and then the show was cancelled So I am going to enjoy this one no matter what. We are going to see some people we know and probably eat too much and drink too much and then have an evening of music. It's all good.

And Deb - I am sorry that you can't make it but keep looking at the positive. Once that brace comes off you will feel much better.

It does when the entire set is played on auto pilot and is filled up with songs you absolutely don't care for, and the ones you do care for sound dreadful live. Then that setlist argument suddenly makes a lot of sense, and it's the reason why most of my friends who still went to see the band 10 years ago no longer give a shit. But again, if you can't detect auto pilot and don't hear how off key Jon is nowadays, I'm sure you'll have a blast.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Why is it this feels like high school, when liking Bon Jovi just wasn't cool. Except I'm on a Bon Jovi board.

You only comment on something these days when you're trying to make out that somehow those who still enjoy the band are some sort of suckers or musical retards who can't tell the difference between a good show and a bad. It's some sort of superior elitist bullshit. You're in danger of sounding like a cantankerous old man.

I wasn't the one who started the "Yeah but for some it seems like they like the dentist more" thing. You've repeated that thing several times, albeit in different words, and I don't think I've replied to you like the way I did just now simply because I felt it wasn't worth the hassle.

Your words are making it sound like those that are critical of the band shouldn't be posting here simply because you, apparantly, don't see auto pilot or hear the off key kind of things others do. Which is fine, like I said. If you don't, you'll probably have a blast. You're not the only one, they're still selling 15.000-35.000 tickets on a nightly basis, and yes, most can't tell a good show from a bad show either. It's why Bon Jovi, and in fact plenty of other acts, still sell a lot of tickets.

However though, I do hear and see it. It's what made me sell most of my tickets and cancel almost all my plans for this tour. Your comment in regards to the dentist is what makes me respond, because I feel like defending my point of view. You don't seem to understand how someone could not enjoy any Bon Jovi show, whereas I don't understand how anyone could still enjoy any (American) Bon Jovi show. I offer my point of view, you offer bitching about my point of view as opposed to counter points. Yeah, that puts us back in high school.

I don't think I've ever really bitched about you personally, because you do seem to enjoy the shows, and it is what it is really. I don't get it, I'll never get it, but it's fine by me. Once you start ridiculing me indirectly for not liking the same things you do, you're kind of on thin ice, that's pretty much how Jovitalk has always worked, or any message board really. But judging from what most people on Jovitalk are saying owadays, and the impopularity in regards to the PBP's nowadays I no longer seem to be the only one here. Which is much to my surprise, really, because that's never been how Jovitalk has worked.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Kathleen, I'm currently wearing a heart monitor for a month as the Dr. suspects an issue. I'm hoping nothing serious shows up much less something requiring surgery. So glad that you are doing well and are going to the show. Have an amazing time tonight, celebrate life, good music, great friends, and create some lifelong memories. I'll be there with you, in spirit.

Deb, wishing you a speedy recovery...
