I'm watching it and it's perfectly clear what happened back there.
Jon starts losing his voice midway through Bad Name. it's got NOTHING to do with lack of practicing although not having played together regularly over the past year and half has its disadvantages. that's why big bands have 'warm up' gigs and such. Jon was struggling with high notes clearly because of something in his throat/vocal cords. I'm a singer and I'm currently with a sore throat. are you all gonna put me up against the wall and shoot me ? it happens. I had the pleasure of watching Bon Jovi last year in Lisbon and it's something I'll hold dearly for the rest of my life. Much better than the previous one I had seen with in Rock in Rio 2008 and its standard setlist. Jon sounded amazing in 2011 considering his 'age'. Sure some older folks sing better than Jon and they're probably 10, 20 years older than him , like McCartney or Springsteen. Jon lost those high notes way back in 2003 and has improved it since, he found ways to go about it. Sore throats happen people. Don't complain so much, this won't be your standard Bon Jovi gig next year. Besides, I don't think the rain helped Jon, considering he was struggling to sing. At least he didndn't bring the whole thing to a grinding halt like I've seen many bands do because of similar conditions.

I don't buy it for one second so why make completely absurd speculative excuses for him. He's off-form and blatantly the band hasn't rehearsed much given the multitude of mistakes riddled throughout the performance.

The only thing the rain had a bearing on was how active he was during the show. He's not gonna go charging about given his previous experiences with slipping in the wet and putting his dodgy knees out.

I'm sure they'll undoubtedly improve but I can honestly say I have NEVER heard them sound so bad in terms of vocals! Richie was way off his usual standards and Bobby's mic was probably the loudest there, which says it all really.

Much work to be done given that there's only a few months before the tour kicks off.

Absolute sensationalist nonsense. What planet are you on
A bit of tongue in cheek humour my friend.....everyone knows Jon will be more than happy to let Richie perform two or three tracks from LOWDOWN (actually I wish he would as Im a big fan of the album).....

just saw the whole show closely...the mistake in lost highway put the whole band off, jon was obviously pissed off with richie...richie looked uninterested and maybe a bit insulted.. there was no eye contact till wanted where things slightly improved...really bad performance, especially in the vocal field...
richie kept making mistakes, jon was in another show, totally out of it with few exceptions...the rain and the mistake in the begining didnt help it...
i am sure things will improve i wonder though why richie keeps messing up repeatedly!! jon acts like a jerk during mistakes, i get it he wants everyone paying attention etc and a mistake like this make him look like a clown but mistakes like that happen and waving your finger around maybe isnt noticed in a live situation, having said that richie made more mistakes through almost every song...and its the first time he played bad name with a les paul, making the solo sound wrong...

There's something perverse about me that I enjoy watching shit Bon Jovi shows rather than good ones
God awful vocals, Bad Name and Prayer particular lowlights. Jon clinging to the mic was really poor form- you can miss out lyrics if you style it out but he wasn't bothered. What a shame that Richie's great showing at iHeart hasn't continued.

But all in all this means nothing for the tour whatsoever, I didnt even know about this show until after it happened. Its just a shame that this is broadcast when there are such great performances that we dont get to see properly.
