Nah, never to early for Christmas songs. I just saw Bruce a few days ago and he hammered out "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town" and I absolutely loved it. Bon Jovi's cover of Run Run Rudolph is quite good anyways.

I don't mind Lost Highway opening though. I actually think it's a pretty good opener and was the only song that actually sounded decent.
You just said that Jon sounded really bad and now you're suggesting they should've played songs that are more demanding vocally.

I wrote in terms of songs it's easy to make the set better, but I stated that in this condition there is really nothing they could play that would sound good. The only song that sounded decent was Lost Highway. So yeah, maybe there were a pinch of double moral. I just thinks it's really bad if he can't handle the pre-2000 catalog vocally and have to put in WGIGO and CCATBQFM just because he can't sing the other stuff, but hopefully he just needs a couple of shows to get the heat up.

I hate to say it, but the more of these shows I see, the less upset I am that I'm only going to 1 show this tour. Not just because Jon sounds like shit, but because it's pretty obvious to me, the band has no intentions of mixing the sets up enough for me to care. It's gonna be the Lost Highway tour all over again, with WWBTF and I'm guessing, maybe 4 songs off the new album.

I don't really think that this is a fair test ... it's not as if this show is part of the actual tour. Yes, this may be a painfully safe setlist, but its unlikely that it will be anything like this when the tour starts.

Although that said, they could have thrown in something new. I can't see them playing any new songs at the Sandy benefit ... are there any other promo shows between now and when the tour starts? I'm wondering when we'll finally hear something new

So what was the point of them doing this show? Is there any way they could even be nominated for Grammy this year? It seems an odd choice for them to do a Grammy related event this year.

With the release of Because we Can being about a month away, it seems like the band has absolutely no excitement in the new songs to play them live until they have to....
