I was at Perth. I definitely think it was a crowd seeking "hits". They came alive for LOAP etc. If a rarity had been busted out I think there could of been silence except for the diehards who would of gone crazy.

I thought it was great.. could it of been better? Yep sure could of. I think they had a noise curfew as there is residents across the road so they had to finish up at 10.30. So they did start rushing through the songs after a time. I thought Richies IBTFY was brilliant and he actually had the crowd with him. MAM wasn't played but once again the crowd probably would of died with that song. People were wondering where Always was.

I was very happy to hear Last Night, Blood on Blood and ITA!! I would of liked to hear die for you and Saturday night.. Radio.

I was glad to hear the songs we got.. its been 14 years so you take what you get lol

Pssh, how dare you have enjoyed a show you attended.
You're breaking up the bitching coming from people who were thousands of miles away..
In all seriousness, glad you enjoyed it.

Was that show sold out? How many people were there? I think the seating capacity is over 40 000...

The way the stage was set they didn't use all the seating capacity of the stadium. I think it was about 25,000 in the end. I think there were still some seats in the silver stands up the back left. It was officially touted as being sold out though.

The normal ground capacity is 43 000 but with the stage set-up (no seats too far to the side or at the back where no one would have seen anything), there were supposedly 30 000 seats available. According to 96fm it was sold out in a few days but they did reserve some tickets to give away a couple of days before the concert, and I'm pretty sure they gave some to the support act & friends too. Ticketmaster apparently released some more tix in the final week as well.

And I agree that most of the crowd were after the hits. Bon Jovi has plenty of casual fans. That said, I think an upbeat/rocking rarity would still have worked. About 2/3 of the people in my section didn't seem to know I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, but they got into it (say whoa yeah!). So the band could have played something like Hey God (yes I'm dreaming). And the cheers seemed to go up during Richie's solos, isn't there a good one in Dry County? And while you've got to be careful not to kill the mood and momentum, it's not like a casual fan should go see a band with 25 years of work and expect to know every lyric and dismiss anything they don't know. Kattitude summed the show up well - could have been better but good nonetheless.

They probably don't even know that. They probably think that because it done well in America that it done well everywhere!

What so they should just play songs that have been released as singles now??

Man be a pretty sad set list each night if that was the case.

Its a great song for a concert thats why they play it.. plus they love it!!

Exactly! And I think the easy answer is that they play some songs they DIG, regardless of hit, fan favorite, etc.

Aloha !

Haven't seen this picture before here but might've missed it, anyway:

The shirt Jon wore during the encores in Perth, obviously referring to the death of Heath Ledger.
