Oh, so no one replies to my post about how shit a main set with only singles would be, eh? Fine!

Out of interest, how does anyone feel that they are able to speak for the entire crowd? You can only see a tiny cross section of it, maybe WSYCGH is going down very well elsewhere. And maybe people are digging it but not really showing it. It happens. And finally, if they played something rare, you probably wouldn't get a huge amount of the crowd cheering, but certain people would really appreciate it. So basically, saying "the crowd weren't pleased" or something similar, means pretty much **** all

The thing is, Who Says You Can't Go Home is done like that to get a lot of crowd involvement. If the people aren't chanting out the it's alright's in the end they don't dig it. There's no way people in a crowd are thinking "well, those alright's certainly sound nice, I'm going to listen to that now" instead of chanting along. It's as simple as that.

Salaam Aleikum,

True. We flew from Adelaide to see the Perth gig...the only 'complaint' was how fast it all went, like they had to be somewhere else straight after. Apart from that, we had a great time. Oh, and despite a lot of things I've been reading about how 'dead' the crowd were or that they were a hit seeking crowd...not where we were. Everyone [and that encompasses an age grouping of say early 20's to late 50's] sang to every single song [and knew all the words]...the old stuff, the new stuff and all in between. If there was one thing about the crowd that impressed me and 2 of my daughters as well, it was that. In the area we were in, the crowd was even singing the music parts.

Probably trying to beat the 10:30 curfew; they also came on stage 15-20 min before schedule.

Glad you had a good time.

I think the point is...regardless of curfews etc...the Perth show just didnt live up to expectations. The crowd interaction wasnt there. A few too many statues in the crowd. Was a big let down after 2 awesome shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

I had a great time in Perth but it definitely wasn't my favourite show of the tour.
I was second row centre and 90% of the people in the front row were more interested in drinking and taking pictures of themselves. Plenty of them left their seats several times to go and get more drinks.
The crowd did not get into the newer songs - Blaze of Glory was probably the crowd favourite from where I was and definitely my least favourite lol
I know someone said they saw Jon say to Hugh - this is crap .... got no idea how true this is though or what he really said it in relation too.
I think most of the crowd went home happy

Wrong topic, idiot. I'll quote your post as the initial one will go into your very own thread where it belongs.

I went to all 4 aussie shows and while Perth wasn't my fave is certainly was still a fantastic show!!!! I think due to the size of the venue the intimacy of melb and syd shows were lost in Perth, the couple behind me didn't sing the whole night and just stood there rooted to their spot but the guy next to me definately made up for their poor performance lol I think I have 3 broken toes and a clump of hair missing from his jumping up and down and hand pumping all night. He even kept putting his Richie imitation cowboy had on my head when he wasn't wearing it lol

PS: if anyone found a clump of long dark brown in perth I'd really like it back lol
