That said, it doesn't address the point where this thread has gone to in suggesting Richie would leave Jovi if he could achieve the same success on his own.
Sometimes people's needs and goals change and if where they are in life doesn't fit with where they want to be, some are strong enough to change it if they want to. I don't think Richie is strong enough to do that even if he wants to - I'm simply saying that I wish he was.
Whether you think AoL was a masterpiece or not (I don't for the majority of it either), there's no denying that all of us who've been lucky enough to see the tour have seen a different side to the man that plays lead guitar in Bon Jovi - and personally, I prefer that version of Richie (plus the songs he's released on any of his albums) to the one that plays in Jovi.

Just to clarify Gav, I wasn't necessarily meaning everything I've read on this board but my Facebook is cluttered with Richie-Can-Do-No-Wrong-Lovers, and hell, some of these people are my best friends but it's starting to annoy me just a little bit because they'll slate anything the band does to death (ticket prices are high, this album doesn't rock whatever...) but happily pay the earth to see Richie and claim Aftermath is better than anything the band has done and well, this is my forum to rant, so I ranted.
Btw looking SO forward to the weekend
