They also had no interest in hearing anything but the Top 40 hit songs they heard on the radio years ago; most of them hadn't bothered to follow the band or buy their albums since around 2000 (at the latest). Casual fans look at Bon Jovi as a nostalgia act. The novelty is that Jon still looks good. That's it, sadly.

It's weird, most people go to Bon Jovi shows for Jon but if it was a solo show he wouldn't sell near as many tickets than with the band. I suppose people know in the back of their minds that the members of the band are important to the overall experience but can't get past Jon's appeal.
I just hope the poor sales for Richie's US shows don't knock his confidence.
