*sigh* I really wish people would stop buying these packages.
Its their own fault, they don't have to. It would be alot different if there were no tickets available to the general public and people were forced into these packages, but this is not the case. I am happy enough with a standard ticket, and staying in a cheap hotel. Couldn't care less about all the other VIP bullshit.

On the other hand to visit a soundcheck is extremely cool though.

Indeed, but worth the price? Not really, to hear a few songs that you are going to hear in a few hours anyway? Pass.

I have been to several soundchecks for free (Alter Bridge, Counting Crows, Stereophonics..) purely down to the fact that I had been queuing outside from early on and the artist/tour manager/we simply asked somebody, let us in.

From my experiance with witnessing sounchecks if it is a pre arranged ticket affair it is more of a glorified mini performance being 3 or 4 songs with all soundcheckking infact already taking place beforehand behind closed doors! so likewise to the post above, you really are paying to witness songs being played in an intimate surrounding hours before they will be played anyway.

the real gem of witnessing soundchecks though if when you stumble accross them usually by accident! either early doors at a festival or early afternoon outside of an academy you notice the doors are open and the band you are to watch that evening are infact onstage and you are able to simply wonder in and watch aslong as you keep to yourself. Here you actually get to watch a band soundcheck and try out new ideas etc... this can be really fun and interesting to watch if it is a band you know well and you are watching them trying to add different elements or licks to songs you know and love!

so when it comes down to richie's soundcheck being sold at an extortianate price i am not convinced it will be anything more than a post soundcheck mini performance. not worth it!

Are they EVER going to announce dates? I'm sick of waiting. Plane tickets aren't cheap last minute.

Haha i thought the flights were included in the packages they were offering, and I STILL thought it was expensive..

How hard can it be for them to announce dates for the fans..hell, they can't even announce the final tracklistings of the album come to think of it, and that's only a few weeks away..
