I was thinking the same thing about it last night, but after I've read that Jon was refusing to cancel and there would be no refunds for the people who couldn't get there for the show, and only after the media started to question what the hell was he thinking he decided to cancel it, I don't think he was concerned about the fans at all, but became really worried about the negative press this was turning into and decided to do this free show just to come out of it as the good guy.

Exactly. THere are people on here that will moan regardless. They could have played Hey God, These Days, I Believe etc and people still wont be happy.

Full credit to the band and to Jon. Made the best possible situation giving the very difficult circumstances.

If he pulls up an attractive girl every night for Who Says, then it beats watching a little kid screech Waiting On a Sunny Day every single time. Who Says is probably a better song too, even though both are in the bathroom break category. But still, to call this a rip off from Bruce is a stretch. I've seen plenty of bands do this.

Bryan Adams used to do it also....

Anyways, i'm pretty sure he's not trying to copy Bruce on this one.
I can't remember which one, but an interview was posted on here last week and in it, jon was saying that bruce USED to be a big influence when he was a teenager, but not he no longer follows his music or listens to it, because he doesnt like or wants to avoid comparisons (or something like that, i cant remember). He also mentionned they weren't actual friends but they speak to each other a couple of times a year.

Look, I'm not trying to piss on the band here, but seriously, as someone who was supposed to go to this show and was following this story as it unfolded, stop making Jon such a martyr. There's a bunch of things to keep in mind:

1.Jon should have postponed the show on Thursday, Friday at worst. He was a stubborn ass and didn't postpone it until the last possible minute.

2.The decision to postpone wasn't all Jon. In fact, most reports say it was the CEO of Mohegan Sun who got fed up with all the complaints from people that were supposed to be there or have hotel rooms and at that point, weren't going to get there money back.

3.None of this unfolded until WTNH in Connecticut and a New York TV Station started reporting on the situation and basically saying "What the **** is Bon Jovi thinking, endangering his fans?"

So, taking those things into account, is it really any surprise he did what he did? Sure, he gave those 2,000 people a free show which is great, but don't let the guy fool you. Can you imagine the backlash he would have faced from those people if he had decided to postpone and not perform at all? And I would bet my next paycheck, an agreement was worked out between the band and the casino for them to play. It kept people at the casino, and kept them happy.

It worked out awesome for the fans, no doubt. I just can't stand seeing all these morons on Facebook saying what a fantastic man he is, and that's why we love him. Had his arm not been twisted, he would have put everyone at risk of driving in one of the worst blizzards in New England's history or losing their money.

The videos don't show the true excitement of this show, WITW was a highlight for me hearing it for the first time ever. 4.) Crash into was Jon on acoustic and then full band after 1st verse. 5.) KTF had an extended solo time by Richie and Dave. 6.) Water was the highlight of the night, Jon and Richie sand together at one mic for part of it, and it sounds great live, but there was an extended outro solo by Bobby...Just my thoughts guys
How crowded was it?
