This is it, exactly. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic for them to go on with the show. But it amazes me the number of people posting on this and other sites that want to prop the band up on a pedestal for playing.
I had tickets and it would have been a 2+ hour drive (in normal weather) through Mass and Connecticut to get to the show. I don't have to rehash the chain of events, but it was UNBELIEVABLY frustrating deciding whether to make the trip or not. When friends in CT told me the highways were still in terrible shape, I decided to stay home. I tried to get a refund through Ticketmaster (playing "the roads are legally closed" card) and they nonchalantly kept blaming the band and promoter. An hour beore the show was officially cancelled, I had Ticketmaster literally tell me I was SOL if I chose to stay home. Yes, I know it is out of Tiketmaster's control, but they'll gladly take my service fee every time I buy a ticket.
I would never complain about the show itself or setlist, but lets not plant a heap load of praise on JBJ and the band either.
