Is the show sold out? Surely they'd have no problem releasing your tickets if it was.

Yup.

I only bought 1 ticket. Not that it should matter.

There is actually a law in America that says that if states close roads, shows must be cancelled? How do you know? Just wondering.

If the state closes a road, then only essential government employees are allowed to drive. All others, can be ticketed and fined. The cancelling of a show isn't directly part of the law, but if no one can get there, how can they have a show?

There you go, I was wondering as to whether this was true. You can take a train, metro and whatever else if you can't drive yourself, there's plenty of options. It might not be the easiest way but it doesn't mean it's impossible to do so.

Sebastiaan

Not so.

Mohegan Sun is not on any public transportation line via anything other than bus, and if there's a state of emergency, buses can't travel.

On a side note, schools across Massachusetts have already begun cancellation for tomorrow.

Oh but you are forgetting one thing Seb: The transport infrastructure in the U.S. is mostly rubbish compared to other first and second world countries.

When I was living in Boston, 5 centimeters of snow would bring the entire city (including busses, trains and subway) to a halt on a regular basis. It's not like over here, where there is a well-developed and fully-functioning railway network. It's unbelievable really.

Hah, I'm aware of this. I was shocked to find out how many delays there were with trains going in and out of New York, so I can imagine it being worse in other cities in the U.S.A.

The thing is, legally danfan's got nothing. It's not of a venues concern as to how you get there or whether there's a state of emergency. If their doors open on time, they've done what they're supposed to do. Their only worry is as to whether enough people will show up to order enough beers etc.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I agree. I am wondering though, in case the show ends up being cancelled, will the cost of rescheduling the show be paid out of the band's or the promoter's pocket? Whatever the case, it would cause additional costs and hence all parties involved will try and go through with the initial date.
