Dude, you're wrong. If the state shuts the roads down, I most certainly have a leg to stand on. Sure, they can go on with the show, but I would definitely have a case against either Ticketmaster or the arena to get my money back. It is ILLEGAL to be on the roads if the state shuts them down.

There are pictures on twitter of the band at sound check/rehearsals. They are not cancelling.

Yes, because no band that has ever done sound check has ever cancelled a gig before.

have you read the terms and conditions on your ticket? because I'm fairly sure they say they're not responsible for the inability to get to the event. you purchased the ticket at your risk.

Maybe you should get used to the fact that they will probably go ahead with the show even if only half of the audience shows up.
There are different standards in Joviland

Oh really?

So Ticketmaster is only allowed to sell tickets if you can actually make it to their shows? This would mean that in case there's an emergency situation in Milan on June 29 I'd be able to get my money back from Ticketmaster?

You're delusional if you honestly believe Ticketmaster will have to refund all the tickets because of a situation that is beyond their control. They only have to do what the ticket says, and that's actually do a show.

Whether you're able to make it or not by driving is not of their concern. You can walk there for all they care.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

It's a tricky situation - The state has the right to cancel any public events (and already have). The problem with Mohegan Sun is that it's a private Indian Reservation. So, it really comes down to whether or not Ticketmaster wants to deal with thousands of pissed off people and potentially losing their business. Not to say anything of the bad publicity both TM and the casino will get if there are any serious injuries or fatalities suffered due to the weather.

Well, I guess that's another topic Seb knows more about than the people involved. I just got off the phone with TM and they said if the state declares a state of emergency, they will issue refunds.

But, of course, Seb knows better.

Oh boohoo.

I never said Ticketmaster woudn't pay out. I just said that legally they don't have to do so, something of which you clearly think differently despite what I said before. There's a reason why insurance companies don't pay out in case of a storm etc.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

We Americans panic at snow, its ridiculous. Seriously, the schools in my town have shut down due to 2 inches of snow a few times.... It's quite entertaining, meteorologists get excited, and the rest of the people freak out.
