I think this highlights a problem with the Bon Jovi arena shows. Unless you pay the money to be up close (or line up hours before the show), you have less of a "great time." I have no interest in watching the band from the back of an arena where even the views on the screen need binoculars and the sound is muddy. If you are up close, it sounds like you do feel a part of the interaction with the band members; otherwise, you are but a speck in a massive crowd. So unless you are with good friends (and none of my friends are Bon Jovi fans), it is not worth even the cheap seats weighed against the hassle of plane tickets, hotels, parking, crowds, etc. Maybe in their prime but not now. I had fairly expensive tickets (for me) in the show I attended and couldn't see them well even with oddly placed screens. Mind you, I was glad I finally got to see them live (minus Richie) but have no need to see them again unless it is a full band.

I have a friend that didn't have a good time but he was like really far from the stage. If you're 70 meters away from the stage, and you don't see shit, just a screen, and hear with a low sound (because of the distance) a band that it's not on their better days well... Well, surely you'll have a bad time. I showed a banner to Jon, he got close to read it and smiled, you also can interact with the band when they get close to the stage. I was near to Bobby and did signs to Bobby and he laughed, these might sound like stupid things but they are a bonus, like if a crowd is good, among other things.

Still, did I have a good time? Yes. Did Jon get out of the auto-pilot? No. Will I see this "band" again? I don't know.

If they come you will go, you love Jon smiling to you and "interacting" with you. I love a freaking good performance.

Yet, I don't think it will be up to us to see the band again in their current state of affairs. Hopefully everything goes back to normal, because THIS band without Richie I won't see no more.

I don't know if I want to buy a pre-sale ticket and then have to stay 5 hours standing to see the same setlist again and an auto-pilot show.

Haha yes but I can still watch videos on YouTube...

Yeah, Seb was right. Thats what I meant.. SA shows may have been good and the energy was great but the crowd looked epic on that video.

Watching that video where Jon stops due to the crush, I noticed that Jon sounded like a total idiot when he was talking to the crowd.

"I stay here all night long"
"Here I see you baby"
"Everybody else gotta mooooove bach"

He can be pretty smart in interviews, but sometimes he acts like he has an IQ of 7 when he's interacting with the crowd. Just something I've noticed over the past few years.

Huh? OF COURSE he speaks differently when he's answering a journalist's interview questions in a hotel suite versus on stage in front of a crowd of 65,000 people. It seems you're the one with an IQ of 7 to even compare the two.

especially when he knows probably 80% of that crowd can't understand what he says...
I think he does that in all SA gigs...
