Confusion has arisen following a letter in the local paper which mistakenly included the wrong response from the club. The letters page printed the standard advert for hospitality attached to all outgoing emails instead of the official response to the query about whether concert-goers could bring their own food and drink. Those coming to the show will be able to bring in soft drinks in plastic bottles - no glass or cans will be permitted. However there will be refreshments on sale around the stadium which is currently being transformed ready for the show which is a 35,000 sell-out, the biggest ever crowd at St Mary's. Hospitality is still available, ring 087 0220 0175 or email bonjovi@saintsfc.co.uk The official statement reads: "St Mary's Stadium is being hired by the Promoter as the venue of the Bon Jovi Concert and under the terms and conditions of the hire agreement 'no food or drink should be taken into the stadium'. As the letter states this is quite normal and many other venues have exactly the same policy. "The pricing structure of food and drink items will be in line with similar events of this type. The catering provision for the concert is being handled by our regular providers FMC who have operated at the stadium for the past five years and who have vast experience in the event industry. The high cost of staffing and infrastructure involved in such a big event does unfortunately have to influence their pricing structure. "It is a standard condition of the promoters that no food or drink is permitted into the stadium. This is printed on all tickets send out by the promoter, however as for football matches water and soft drinks in plastic containers (no glasses or cans) will be allowed."
