Because to me Dry County is #1 song they should not touch or even think about it without Richie on stage. Phil is a great guitar player, but he does not handle this song well, especially the main solo, not even close to it. Moreover this song has a long history for me and has a very personal meaning to me. To me it's Richie's song, more than any other song in their catalogue, but of course it may be only my opinion.

The main solo of the lastests performances is just like the original one, is great. What kills it for me is Jon's voice.

As the Sweds proved, they must not. And just to clear, I even pasted them a link to BJ.com and the info about guarantee of refunds if someone does not want to see a Richie-less show. Didn't work either.

Don't know what's the problem with people, they must think you're trying to scam or rob them.
Like the ticket might explode in your hand or something! I understand it's weird to have people giving stuff away for free, but it's not so out of this world to think one can't no longer attend a show and just has to give the ticket away at the last minute.

With this particular song – yes Even though I am aware that it was written by Jon only, to me it’s Richie’s solo that transforms this song from very good to epic.
This might give you more insight what this song truly means to me and why I would never want to hear it without Richie:

Just got back to the hotel after the show. It was weird without Richie, very weird. It felt like merely a Jon solo show. The set list was a disappointment, I was at least hoping for a longer encore. I think they left quite rushed.
The air was quite chilly for an outdoor event also. Jon seemed to struggle a lot, most evidently on DC. Obviously, he wasn't enjoying himself too much tonight. For me, the best thing was to get to hear 4 of the new songs.

I agree with you. The song is of such high caliber largely because of the guitar solo.

I view it as Richie's song as well. It's the one he gets to shine on the most.
