He introduced everyone except Tico and Hugh. I thought that was odd too.

Nope, no Christmas songs so far. Maybe for the next shows.

I take it that you mean when Jon introduces the guys for AOD, he only introduces those that have definitive parts in the song. If you watch the LH dvd, it's the same there.

I think the violin adds a lot to certain songs, but it takes lead too much. If it just added to the rythm and base melody rather than being thrown up front like lead guitar it would be much better.

I was at this show last night. Great show! I got up at 4:00 in the morning to make it there and it was definitely worth it!! Here are some of my "musings" for you reading enjoyment

* The band. JON was high energy, pumped up right from the start. He is the MASTER at working an audience. His voice sounded good to me. What can I say about RICHIE, he's a LEGEND. I spent alot of my night watching RICHIE and DAVE as i was 4th row their side. I could hardly see TICO at all though, i really i only saw him for the bow. I was kind of bummed Jon didn't intro the band last night... The reast of the crew I pretty much ignored, except i had to see Lorenza all night. I'm sure this will piss others off as it did me.. i'm talking about when she took center stage on WHO SAYS and shared the white mic with both JON AND RICHIE....Come on! She really needs to stay in the background!!

* The setlist was good, but i guess i was expecting some kind of "surprise" as Toronto usually gets mega rare shit... It was great hearing KEEP THE FAITH, IN THESE ARMS, and I absolutely loved hearing CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE with I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU acoustic. I have always wanted to hear the "true" version of IBTFY and this was as close as i have ever gotten. They sounded so great on that.... my arms were aching by the end from swaying for the entire song, lol, but it was a good kind of pain! ANY OTHER DAY was unexpected, we were talking about wanting to hear that before the show and i didn't think it was going to be played and there it was. I don't know, i just had this gut feeling something more "rare" was going to be pulled out, but it wasn't. I did love how Jon stood there and just watched Richie jam at the end of ANY OTHER DAY.. like he was just in a state of awe.... so very cool!

* My only real gripe was not hearing Richie do THESE DAYS. STRANGER was great and played with a ton of passion and of course i sang along to every word, but i had REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to hear TD by RS in person, but i KNEW as soon as i read he played it Thursday we were not going to get it Friday...

Other than that I am sooooooooo glad i went to Toronto!! I had so much fun meeting up and hanging out with my board peeps Steph and Matt preshow as well Thanks Steph for everything!! You were such a great tour guide!!

Oh and P.S. Matt, you still owe me a bottle of water! LOL ~ J/K!!

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Oh good grief! What is wrong with people? I haven't seen Stranger live (YET, I say hopefully), but I've seen the YouTube clips from Newark and from last night. Richie pours his heart and soul into a tremendous song, and the rest of the band is clearly into it, too. I have to believe it was one of the real highlights of the night. I guess this explains as well as anything why they don't vary the set lists more. Too many people don't appreciate the gems that the band gives out. They'd probably have stayed in place for Captain Crash. <sigh> Sadly, I saw the same mixed reaction to Living In Sin at the Prudential. Night 3 was the only night they played it, and I can't help but wonder if it was because it didn't get the huge reaction they expected. Some of us were going nuts, but a lot of others used the time to offload the last beer and buy the next. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

We had almost nothing in the way of a PBP on BS last night, but we did learn that Richie did Stranger. I thought of you right away. I'm so sorry. Are you going to any other shows? It kind of looks like Richie does These Days at most shows, but pulls out Stranger when they're doing more than one show in a city. So you need to go somewhere that only has one show . . . and I have to hope that I draw Stranger on one of the first two nights in Chicago.

Other than your These Days disappointment, it sounds like you got a really great show. If it is any consolation, I'm really jealous!
