I hate for a newbie post to be a correction of someone elses but I gotta set the record straight here.

I was there & they didn't do Just Older last nite though I wish they had, it's one of my faves. Jon said he hurt his back not his knee. He made the comment that he was on "every anti-inflammatory known to man." Richie looked so red after the first song I thought he was gonna pass out, but once he took off that 50 pound long leather jacket he seemed better.

I was wondering why in the instrument breaks Jon would just go back to the drum riser & just sorta bend over it instead of dancing around or walking the stage. His hurt back woulda been the reason.

And it was a great encore! Although I'm sure half the crowd didn't have a clue as to what Treat Her Right was it was great sing-along song even if you didn't know the words.

I thought the opening act was OK, Honor By August, but most of the crowd, myself included, had never heard of them. Honestly they were better than SR71 was 2 tours back.

One benefit to having the opener be a local act is that Bon Jovi can play longer. The openers went on @ 7:30, they were done by 8, there was a 1/2 hour to break down & set up then our boys were on by 8:30 instead of the usual 9 or 9:30 they'd start at if it were a big name opener.

One day...yes...one day I shall make it into those pits.....**sigh**

What was the key to getting in this year?

How great can a 'sing-along' be if you dont know the words, ie can't 'sing-along'??

You'd have to be pretty stupid to not be able to sing along to a chorus that goes "hey hey hey hey!!!!"
even if you don't know what the rest of the words to the song are.

That's sorta what I meant only w/out the "stupid" part, but yeah, the chorus of the song is just the words "hey hey hey hey", Jon would say them, the crowd would answer back w/the same thing.

The audibles on the set list were Bounce, Last Cigarette, Have A Little Faith and Captain Crash. I was able to get a copy fo the set list.

Jon was definitely hurting. I knew something was wrong when I saw the platforms set up for LMS and Blaze but yet he didn't go out to them. He tried hard to move around but you could tell all he wanted to do was probably lay down. He would go over to the drum riser and look like he was laying his head down, I didn't see it, but it was reported he was getting hits of oxygen or a vaporizer or something. Richie definitely picked up Jon's slack tonight and was in the best form I've seen him all tour. He was very interactive with the crowd and went over to the fan pit by him several times. He walked up and down the ramp as far as he could a lot.

Jon did apologize and said he felt like an old man but that he'd fallen and his back was killing him. He said he was juiced up on all kinds of anti inflammatory drugs and then he thanked the crowd for getting him through the night and that he considered it a Christmas present. Even though he was not moving around he still sounded great. So, the show wasn't a total loss by any means.

It's a vaporizer, he's been using that for years.

No CC, but I guess that's the only positive thing about this setlist. However, because of his back, I can imagine it not being the best show with the greatest setlist.
