Also, most of the support acts for the Crush & One Wild Night tours were shit. Anyone remembers Less Than Jake, Toploader, SR-17 or Eve 6?

Dude,

In 93 we had Billy Idol, in 95 we had Ugly Kid Joe and Van Halen, in 96 we had Joan Osboarne who was back then very popular. Stereophonics during OWN tour and Live for the Bounce Tour. Nickelback on the Hand Tour. So, I think we can't complain hiere in Europe apart from very bad openers on the Lost Highway tour and Crush Tour.

For Europe 2011, they still might come up with a decent band. Let's hope they do so cause i like the 'festival' style of bill, rather than just one show. I'll keep my hopes up.

Billy Idol was the worst thing I ever saw in 1993. He sang a nazi tune on stage and was completely drunk or under another influence. Ugly Kid Joe sucked balls too. Nickelback were so-so Stereophonics were pretty lame. As I said - NO support bands and NO festival styled shows please!

They should choose an act who lives in the country they are performing in. Someone who can promote their music to the masses.

I dont care what anyone says, Vanessa Amorosi. She's a rock chick from Melbourne, and even Jon would be impressed with her voice. Have her and she'd probably steal the show from the Jove.

Yeah she's pop as they come. What about Jimmy Barnes? He's opened for Bon Jovi before and would go down well in Oz/NZ.

That was ten years ago.

Barnsey would be good, though.

Gold spot were the worst at the o2 opener! Were did they dig up that band from?? and for such a big specticle too.

Toploader were all over the charts in the UK when they supported Bon Jovi in 2000 (Dancing in the moonlight- #7 in UK charts and Achilles heel- #8 in UK charts) check out the latter song if you have not heard it.

I'm still not a fan but this is what Vanessa Amorosi's up to these days:

Barnesy would be awesome. Maybe Shannon Noll (I know he's from Idol but he is pretty good live and there's the Richie connection) or Jet (didn't Jon mention liking them a few years ago?) or Powderfinger (Darren Middleton interviewed Richie)?
