Hi
here you are... Paul...
Picaddily train station is nowhere near old trafford. if you're travelling into manchester from outside you need to get off at picaddily (or victoria if you're coming from the north), then get either a bus or tram (or taxi/car whatever suits you best) to old trafford which is virtually in salford (where the lowry is and imperial war museum...)... it is about 10 mins drive from city centre if that helps also.
Salford is very nice though around there - it's not like Moss Side where the gig was in 96 - and where I actually got assaulted by a guy who was drugged up on something (I was 12 or 13 then).
Don't want to sound like a tourguide lol, but anyone going down there should check out the Lowry and Imperial war museum and walk round the docks. Restaurants there are loads within about 10 mins walk from the ground and a cafe in the lowry and the war museum.
If anyone wants to know any more info let me know. Nearer time i'll let everyone know what the bus numbers are etc from the city centre.
Don't suppose anyone can return the favour and tell me any info about Mollineux? i went to wolverhampton to see keith emerson at the civic hall, and next week to see uli jon roth, jack bruce, frank marino and glenn hughes at the wulfrun... but they are all in the centre...
... any info would be appreciated...
might even treat myself to hyde park nearer the time but that would cost a hell of a lot and you'd have to go down pretty early to be near the front.
One more little bit of info for people. There's a 'bootleg' shop in Manchester too inside "Afflex Palace" that has quite a few BJ shows on CD - some on video... and there are places in the colliseum and various record shops with old vinyl (lots of vinyl bootlegs) and also old tour t-shirts, programmes etc... key chains.... of all 80s (some 70s) bands... maiden, scorpions, BJ, aerosmith, deep purple, skid row etc.....
i'm enjoying this so any more info - just let me know
Thanks
