Default Old Trafford Tickets ****up!

hello, I received a letter today saying that "due to an administration error the normal standing tickets will no longer be available"

now, people that had them are being offered Gold Seating for no extra fee (£10 cheaper)

But Im just wondering, theres space for maybe 10-15,000 people on the pitch at Old Trafford, surely they cant have that many gold seating tickets left? and where exactly is the Gold seating? And whats going to happen to the pitch? They cant just leave it empty surely?

There are posts on Backstage about this too... I really don't know what's going on with the regular GA tics at Old Trafford. But I have made another query about my own tickets at the Ticketmaster Q&A service, and if they'll tell me anything that could be of use for others, I'll be sure to post their answer here.

If thats the case theyve manged to get away with charging people an extra £10 for standing tickets. What a con.

its strange, we've been offered gold seating tickets instead, which makes me think, maybe they've sold too many gold standing tickets / general standing but not as many gold seating / normal seating as they had expected... hence this "admin error" resulting in everyone with gold standing being on the pitch because there was too many (with fan club inc) to get into a "pit" and because they had plenty of left over seats all those with the normal are being put into them

on the bright side It means me and my brother can have a few tinnies beforehand and not have to worry about pushing past shit loads of people for a piss

Also, at leaat you'll have decent seats if its their error. You should be pretty close to the stage.

Ive got gold standing and was looking forward to not having to queue from daft o clock to get a decent view. But from reading this im not so sure now

Some bloke at Ticketmaster this morning told me that the promoters allocated too many standing tickets to Ticketmaster and that is why they are now sending letters out to lots of people (he didnt say how many) telling them they will now be having a seat instead!

What a f*cking cock up this is turning out to be!!!
