Less than 3months until the UK gigs does seem way too short notice. All I was considering in my last post was that if it is a large-ish name then leaving it late would give the eBay peeps less time to turn around tickets again if they announce say a month before.

Wouldn't there have been announcements somewhere if unsigned acts were to be given a chance?

The "no support act" theory only gets backed up by JBJs love of a profit margin. But then so much for giving fans the best show!

Just hate to see the Foos doing it right and the concert I've waited 3years for being put together seemingly so poorly.

But please PLEASE no more of Kiiihiiiid Rock. I've seen this idiot two times out of my four shows and he sucks.
Kid Rock is touring in the U.S. during July, so he can't open for Jovi then.

I will be pissed off if it ends up being local acts. For the prices, people really should be getting good, well known bands on the bill along with Jovi.

The Ashton Gate gig will have at least 1 local band as the opening act as the local paper has been advertising the usual competition.....

Difficult to figure out who the other potential openers would be in the UK as it's Glastonbury the same weekend (which could be why there's no more detail as to the Hyde Park Calling acts).

Don't be surprised to see it being some random X-Factor drop-out from 2/3 years ago.

Well at least we know who is opening for them in Mohegan Sun. I haven't seen news about anywhere else though.

Hyde park calling has always been the same weekend as Glastonbury so I highly doubt that is the reason, They either have something big planned and are waiting to announce or are just extremely unorganised.

According to the email they sent out when the public sale of tix for the May shows was announced, there weren't supposed to opening acts for ANY of those shows. Of all the places, Mohegan Sun makes the LEAST sense, because of that written-in-stone curfew.

Jon Bon Jovi is currently in talks with Charlie Sheen. The very controversial Charlie Sheen will be opening up for Bon Jovi for the rest of the greatest hits tour.

Honest question, does the support act really matter that much over there? Is it a cultural thing? I'm much more into what the main act is going to play, how long they'll play, and etc, and normally don't care about support acts (unless it's the rare scenario where I'm going especially for a certain support band, but that's a different story)

IT doesn't really matter to me very much. However sometimes BJ has an opening band that is exciting. I looked forward to seeing Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, and even SR-71. But it is not a deal breaker... I'm still going to the show either way. It's just a bonus. Oh and I really like Dashboard's latest release so that was a band I wanted to see.
