Ive seen slash at a gig by himself last year as well as Ozzy. Both are phenomenal... seeing them together would be awesome. I agree on Ryan Star... opening in Vancouver was great. Great front-man and loads of energy. I can see him being a great performer in the future.

To be honest, I hate opening acts. Though nickelback and sunrise avenue were really great supporters, I'd prefer an evening with Bon jovi. That's what I want and that's what I pay for. When I wanna see nickleback, I'm gonna buy myself a nickleback ticket.
Please don't let me remember that Gianna nannini stuff and all that local bands, I'm getting a big headache when thinking about that...
Why am I forced to watch this sh*t when I have paid a lot of money for Bon Jovi?
Do I really have to buy a seating ticket so that I can avoid that stuff, i.e. take my seat 10 mins before BJ start?

Another point, it is much more comfortable when being able to sit on the ground a little longer. People from the back are getting nervous when the instruments for the o/a are being prepared on stage and are standing up,pushing forward as if the show is likely to start in 30 mins.
So sometimes we were standing about 2 hours before the opening act appeared - thanks to those idiots.

If BJ decide to play without any opening acts - as Bruce does perfectly -, I'll be more than happy about that.

I didn't mean Bon Jovi, I just meant in general.
And just to clarify, it's not that I think opening acts don't matter, I just don't see them as a factor in the show, more like a bonus. If it's a band I already like, that's awesome. If it's a band I've never heard of an I enjoy, that's a nice bonus. If they suck, I honestly don't care. It has no bearing on the main show for me either way honestly. I didn't realize just how big of a cultural difference that was, as here in the States most gigs revolve solely around the headliners.

That's fine. Ebay's getting good money for these tickets. Look like I'll be selling them. I'm not paying $300 a ticket for a 90 minute show. I don't give a damn if they played all B-sides. It's the principle of the matter.

I posted the following on the band's Facebook page. I wonder how long it'll take them to remove it:

$250 a ticket and we have to sit through some shit opening act, cutting Bon Jovi's show down to 2 hours? When I buy a ticket for a show that says "An Evening With...", to me that means I'm not put through the torture of seeing some crap local band Jon's trying to "help out". How about helping your fans that shelled out $250 to your last Mohegan show, and only got a 20 song set, while other cities get 30 songs?

Some people are just so ungrateful. I would LOVE a 21 song set full of surprises over a 28 songs full of autopilot and filler ANY DAY. No band ever plays longer than 2 hours there. If you look at the bands that play there, it's always 2 hours and thats it. Doesn't matter if they go on at 5pm with no opening act or they go on at 9pm with an opening act.

Besides the evening with concert I went to Bon Jovi got on at the EXACT same time. And they played JUST as long as the night before WITH an opening act. This for once is NOT Bon Jovi managements fault. It was always going to be a 2 hour show, opening act or not.

With all due respect, you're a young kid. I've spent more money on this band in the past 25 years, then you could possibly imagine. Ungrateful? Hardly.

I will agree, it's not totally Bon Jovi's fault. However, if they weren't so greedy, they would play another arena in the area where these stupid ass rules aren't in place.

Erm, I wonder if that's true, Dan. He's done a road trip last year through Canada with me and will spend over 3000 dollars on a road trip through Europe this year. I actually think he's spend more money on the band than you can imagine.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

In that case, that's pretty cool. I wish I had that kind of money when I was 18.

Not really my point anyways. If the band is going to have these ridiculous time limitations, then play someplace else. Every venue has a curfew, but to be told what time you have to be on stage and off stage by is stupid. There are plenty of other venues (much larger ones at that) the band could play at in the area. They choose Mohegan because the Indian tribes pay them a shit load of wampum.

And you know all that, Dan. Yet every time there's a show at Mohegan Sun, you do the following:

1) Bitch about the price of the tickets
2) Buy tickets anyway
3) Come back here after the show and bitch about the length of the show (no matter how good the show was)
4) Swear you're never going back.

And yet, the next time there's a show at Mohegan Sun, you start over with number 1. I hope you do sell your tickets, because there's no way you're going to be happy.

Yup - I can't argue with any of that. Never denied it either.

I love this band too much not to see them within an hour of my home. But I despise everything about that arena and it's policies.

It could also have to do with the fact that I always lose a couple hundred bucks at the blackjack tables every time I go.
